  • Thanks OP. Bought two. Hoping to just swap them out so I never have to wait. Cheers!

  • Good deal. Wondering why you guys need that much of capacity. The portable batteries are supposed to help you through the day only, why need up two 20k? I always have 2 packs of 10k swapping from day to day, but during one day, I never used up all the 10k.

        Definitely not for me so.
        No game
        No camping
Always alone, no multiple devices to charge
        Tablet…yeah maybe

  • Has anyone tried a device like this on a plane with a laptop?

In theory you could plug the power bank into the seat USB, and plug the laptop into the power bank…

    • +1

The power output of the seat is usually poor and won't keep up.

It doesn't even charge most of my devices when plugged in directly.

    • Not sure about other airlines, (I would think it's similar though), but Royal Brunei do not allow use of a power bank when the aircraft is in flight, either charging a device or being charged itself.

  • Bought one. Thanks OP

  • +1

Do these use 18650s? If so, what brand and model?

    • Beat me to the question

    • No. It doesn’t use 18650.

  • Guess i can't get free prime if I have used it once before?

  • Will the Lenovo Yoga 920 charge at 18W PD using this powerbank?

  • anyone tested the actual battery size? from the phone it says it charges and how many times only adds up to bout 15000-16000, not 20,000

    • +2

For all powerbanks their batteries are measured at 3.7V while the USB standard is at 5V for phones/tablets. So you need to do a conversion to get the capacity.

      3.7V x 20000mAh / 5V = 14800mAh

      • Don't forget the conversion efficiency as well, for example Cygnett one is about 55% as I've tested.
Xiaomi does really well, about 80% for high speed and 90% for low speed.

        • Yeah excluded the efficiency for simplicity. 85% on this power bank I'm fairly certain.

          • @Clear: I'd say 85% is very high I doubt if it's the case for the Romoss given Xiaomi is 80% and their pretty much the best 👍🏼

  • How does this compare to the anker battery? I recall that one being just on the edge of being taken onboard of planes.

    • +1

Without permission you can take up to 100Wh onboard with 27000mAh equalling 99.9Wh. This power bank is rated at 74Wh and you'd have no issue taking it onboard.

  • How does it support Apple 2.4(A)?

    The specs say 2.1A?

    • Blue port.

      • Thanks, is the only difference between this model and the 10000mAh model the longer battery life? I was actually after a 10000mAh but since this is a good deal I might jump on it.

Do you have much stock left?

        • +2

Depends on which 10000mAh model as not all have fast charging tech like this. Sold 350+ with ~270 remaining.

          • @Clear: WOW that's $9,800 in 3 hours!! Power of Ozbargain

          • @Clear: This one seems to be the 10000mAh USB-C model - https://www.amazon.com.au/ROMOSS-10000mAh-Portable-External-…

Try to spot all the differences apart from mAh - any help so I can make informed decision between the two?

            • +2

@Moo Deng: That one lacks the 18W fast charging found in the 20000mAh. If it was me personally I'd take the 20000mAh as it's better value for money.

              • @Clear: Ok done :)

Now just need a good wall charger and cable…

  • +1

Cheers, grabbed one for my trip to Japan!

  • OP, noob question but what do they mean by "charging cable not included"? is that the cable we charge the power bank with? if it's, then how will we charge it then?

    • Yes no cable is included. You have the option of using a Micro USB, USB-C or Lightning cable that you may already have for recharging.

      • ohhh!! Thanks OP :) would they all be the same? or one will charge faster?

  • -2

Can anyone tell me regarding the link below if this is a good fast quick charger for an iPhone X, also can someone please link me a good cable for a quick charger, cheers

  • Thanks Clear, got one. Was on the Kogan site most of tonight and nearly possibly missed. Look forwards to testing the Amp meter :-)

  • Got one for a rainy day with Prime, thanks OP!

  • Can you bring powerbanks on the plane? Flying to HK in the coming weeks

    • +2

yes Power banks should not be carried in your hold (checked) luggage, but it is fine to carry a maximum of two power banks in your hand (carry-on) luggage. Each must be individually packed and no greater than 100Wh, which is around 27,000mAh.
Some airlines will allow you to take power banks up to 160Wh in your hand luggage, though anything over 100Wh must be approved by the airline. 160Wh is around 43,000mAh.

  • Picked one up. Thanks again Clear.

Already have a PB but bought this cause everyone else is buying it.

  • Bought one! Already had a Xiaomi, but wanted USB-C PD. Great price, thanks OP :)

  • Rep, I'm still waiting for a proper Oneplus powerbank that does dash charge…

    • I've shared them before as a normal user.

      • Rep I’m looking to buy 2 of the portable chargers if you’ve still got stock! I tried adding to cart but it was empty. Thanks!

      • Haven't seen them you mean you don't post them like here…. Why?

        • Sdoutech power banks will do it.

  • Can’t seem to purchase?

    • Did I miss out?

      • Yeah all sold out sorry.

        • Ah dang! New stock due some time soon?

          • +1

@Owgasm: A new shipment of power banks will be sent to Aus soon. I'll see if they can add more.

            • @Clear: Please do. I’m keen but missed out!

            • +1

@Clear: Ah, looks like I missed this. Any chance it'll be put on sale again soon?

I have two Sense 4s and they're still going strong, but I'd like to upgrade for USB-C PD for my Switch and iPad Pro.

A quick question - this powerbank can be charged using USB-C PD and charging another device with USB-C PD from the same port. The iPad Pro can also apparently charge another device from its USB-C port. With this two-way capability, how do these devices work out which way to send power?

              • @lint: Also curious!

              • @lint: See this comment for another usb C-PD powerbank below, there could be a similar function on the Romoss, a command to let device know it is about to receive charge/voltage via another usb c-PD charger.

Good charger, but doesn’t output 60W for that long before stepping down as it drains. My other notes:

                Kogan 26800mAh 60W USB-PD battery
                - Only supports QC (>5V output) when one usb port is in use at a time
                - Supports total output of 18W via USB-A ports.
                - Supports USB-PD protocol charging via USB type-C port, up to 30W (20V, 1.5A)
                - Supports pass-through charging with boost e.g. 5V (12W) input, QC3.0 output of 9V (18W)
                - Does not support QC protocol input via USB type-C port (only 5V charging up to 12W, unless using USB-PD protocol)
                - Hold down the button to change charging direction - if connected to a supported device (e.g laptop).
                - Lights do not flash during charging if close to full.
                - If a device is using QC on one port, and it is unplugged, and then plugged into the other USB type-A socket, QC will be disabled on both ports. QC will not be enabled again until all ports are unplugged for a full 60 seconds. Until this happens, both ports are limited to 5V 2A (10W).

Now that this is expired, I want it so badly :) Damn it.

I know right! If I'd known I would have delayed a single day.

      • Haha all good. You still definitely helped quite a few people save some $$ :D

  • Got mine today. Anyone know if there's a case for it?

There's some for what looks like the older model. That would fit in guessing.

    can you help out OP?

  • Mine just arrived today. Feels so much heavier than my Xiaomi 10000, but it obviously serves a different purpose. Thanks OP!

    • Yup, just received mine. It is even heavier and bulkier than my Xiaomi 2C 20000.

  • Hey OP, any chance you can find a few more units to put online today?

    • Afraid the Amazon warehouse has been cleaned out.

  • Just received mine today. Did anyone else's come fully discharged at 0% ?

    • 88% here

    • Received mine. 83%

      • Same

      • +2

        As was my sample 😋

        • Hi rep, mine arrived yesterday, charged to 80%. Have an issue with it though, how can I charge the power bank using the USB-C port?

I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong, but description says "Type-C Input: 5V/2A, 9V/2A", so I should be able to charge it using the same USB-C port, right?

My laptop charges when I plug it in with a USB-C cable, but I can't figure out how to reverse the charging direction.

And, when I plug the power bank into the mains, it does not charge or recognise a connection at all.

I tried to change the direction by pressing the power button, then by holding it down, but pressing it seems to just change to show the charging speed, whilst holding seems to turn it off and on.

Any solution? The manual did not have any instructions in it, just a few diagrams :/

          Thanks!

          • @Zazer: Are you trying to charge it with your MacBook? That won't work.

            • @Clear: Hi, I am trying to charge it by plugging it in to my MacBook charger, to charge the power bank by using USB-C so it charges faster. Is that possible?

            • @Clear: Hey rep, did you see my message? Just want to know if it is possible and I am doing something wrong. Can I charge it via its USB-C port or not? Thanks!

              • @Zazer: I saw it. I'll let Romoss work that one out when they're back on Monday 😉

                • @Clear: okay great! thanks, was just wondering. :)

              • +1

@Zazer: I used my essential phone power adaptor to charge the power bank (USB-C to USB-C) and it charged fine. Is that what you mean?

Maybe the output voltage of your macbook charger exceeds that of the power bank's input specs?

                • @djlee: Huh, interesting! I'll give charging it with my phone charger a go.

                  • @Zazer: Really? Is that not what would normally try first before panicking and trying after getting tricky first?

So,…did your phone's charger work? USB C to C or USB A to C cable as it should charge with miceo usb and usb c as long as voltage is in range.

  • Got mine today, it was 0% charged. It has charged quickly to 70% and but has now slowed right down which may be normal. Main concern for me is the adaptor I am using to charge is very hot. It is samsung fast charge with genuine cable.

    • +2

It's not unusual for a Samsung fast charger to run hot since it's using QC2.0 after all. Higher voltages means more heat.

      • Ok cheers for that, it has charged from 0 to 70% in approx 2-3 hrs, now it's slowly worked it's way up to 90% in the last 2 hrs.

      • Higher voltages means more heat.

Higher V by itself doesn't produce more heat. Increase the power to get more heat.

        • Higher voltage and less amps produces more heat than higher amps and less voltage in fast chargers.

          E.g. QC vs VOOC
