    • +17

Would that make it a two pack wrap?

      • +3

        Comment of the day šŸ…

    • +4

      Thats it, petition time.

    • +3

The Bacon Deluxe's seem to go up every time? Oh well, that plus 2x $1 chips (if that's still going) still beats a large meal.

      • +1

They bounce the price around is the problem. Having a poke through old frugal feeds images, it was $7.45 a year ago, but $7.95 two years ago ($7.95 three years ago too). So they keep putting it up the past year, but it's only because they dropped it prior to that.

        • You going to sucker up and pay the extra?

    • +18

Thanks for giving us the patch notes to this! (:

  • +3

Damn got rid of the $1 coffee. Wasn't that great, but it was pretty damn convenient.

The BBQ Cheeseburger meal at $3.65 and Chicken Royale at $3.95 is good but I'd just find myself filling out the survey anyway.

As for breakfast, I got my eye on that $3.95 deal (that didn't increase in price did it?)

    • +1

Used to be 3.25 June 2018. Then jumped to 3.45. Now 3.95 oof

    • Back to 7-11 $1 coffees

      • I've got a Coles Express near me for 80c coffees :D

Problem is it's around an 8 minute walk in the opposite direction to the bus stop. And I never leave around 20 mins to go there and get back for the bus.

But when I'm actually out there's nothing around which is a shame..
7/11 don't really appear in food courts.

    • +2

iD rate their chips the best item they have amongst any other competitors. Followed by Oporto chips, kfc than maccas

      • -1

Don't know why people are negging you, you're right.

        • I do, they feel shame because they eat this (or something similar) every day.

          • +2

@FXx: All he's doing is listing chips in order of tastiness.

      • +1

Yeah I read something the other day along these lines.

For $1, Hungry Jack's small chips are great. Even better if you spin a free medium. Great seasoning + cooked fresh more often

Oporto Chips are amazing. But, apart from the brief $1 promotion, they are so expensive!

KFC chips used to be awesome. Now they are just bang on average.

Maccas fries? Lol. I swear they only get cooked at the start of the day, because when I go there any time after 11am or so they aren't fresh. Sometimes they are barely even warm.

        • If they're barely warm, ask for fresh cooked. You have the right.

          • @danoz123: Yes you have that right to ask for fresh cooked chips.

          • @danoz123: Problem is I don't know if they are barely warm until I've got them.

Also, it normally takes them around 8-10 minutes to put together an order of mine (simple "meal" deal) when they are busy - admittedly most of the time.
Wonder how long it would take for a fresh batch.

            • @pennypincher98:

Problem is I don't know if they are barely warm until I've got them.

Simple. Ask for your chips without salt. They will have to cook a fresh batch. (And if you want salt on your chips, take a sachet of salt from the condiments table.)

              • @Kandrew: Having a sachet of salt compared to actually having salt on your chips is quite different.

I've tried it, but it doesn't really work out all too well. A few chips get heaps of salt and some get none.

Easiest solution: don't get Macca's chips.

          • @danoz123: That's about the only right you have these days.

        • McDonalds chips are thinner therefore lose heat way faster than other shops. I've timed how fast they can get me fresh chips and quickest is about 2.5mins so don't think it's a huge hassle asking for fresh chips. The maccas i go to always gives me hot chips at night. McDonald chips and kfc are in the top 3 when fresh, behind my local fish n chips

      • Oporto is the best! I haven't had HJ's in a while though, will try again so I can test :)

  • +3

    Is phone OK?

      Yes

I edited my comment because I changed my mind and realized that you can indeed eat your phone.

          • @Ostrk: Another Ninja edit…

            • +2

              @jv: Can't touch this speed

    • +4

      Phone is fine.

    • Phone is not OK but phone is fine

  • +15

Damn. They got rid of the 2 extra long chicken classics deal.

    • What no! Feckity feck. That's my fave deal.

I usually get this if I'm at HJ. I wonder if they accept old coupon. They usually dun check Expiry date.

      • Same šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ imma ask for it still see if it's on the registers.

      • +3

It seems doubtful, they don't manually adjust the price, just press a button and the deal pops in.

  • +7

Price have gone UP again !!! >:(

    • +14

One might say they've been jacked.

      • +10

        Hungry Jacked

        • Sounds like Jack has been hitting the gym more recently….

      • +1

        Hugely Jacked

  • +3

    When do the hacks begin?

  • +10

Woo they've still got the 2 jnr whoppers and chips! Solid 1 person dinner that! (after a few drinks after work =p)

  • +7

I'm still bummed about hungry jacks changing their classic grilled chicken burger, those were amazing!!!

  • +1

Can these be used with drive thru?

  • How much do they charge for cheese? Does anyone order without cheese?

    • If you're referring to the Whopper deal, $1 per burger (they put two slices on one Whopper at 50c each), so $2 extra on top of the voucher.

      • +5

25 cents per slice if using cheese from the supermarket.

        • -1

0 cents if you milk your own cow and make your own cheese.

          • @Daabido: cow has maintenance costs…

  • +2

Price hike, why are these posts getting likes

    • +8

      Because still light on pocket

    • Do you know about CPI? Why should prices not go up?
Sounds like a reason to stop eating food your body doesn't want in it maybe?

      • -1

CPI was 1.3% per annum in the March quarter.

  • When did they start counting onion rings?

    • +6

Since they switched to battered (which aren't as good imo).

      • +2

The new ones are horrible. I spat them out after a few bites. Old ones are classic! Miss them

        • +3

Amen to that! Please sign the petition so we can try to bring them back.

    • Interesting. They must have changed the recipe, they used to be crumbed not battered.

    • Yeah I used to work there when they changed the onion rings. 8 rings for a medium and 12 for a large. Quite a large price not worth imo

    • What has onion rings got to do with this? Are they on promo too?

      • On the other side of vouchers

      • +1

got to do, got to do with it

  • Man the wrap deal looks good. Thanks OP.

    • +1

I remember when they came out it was $3.95 for 2. Unbelievably good value. I was eating them most days….

  • +3

use the daily shakers. most individual items only $3. walk out if not shake any. these tickets no longer really good value

  • +1

Was keen to try the new wraps but $8 each was a stretch. Will give them a go at $5 each.

  • +2

So the Xtra long classics are gone, grilled chickens now suck & everything has received a price increase. How disappointing.

Friday takeaway night will be moving elsewhere :(

    • Did they change the original grilled chicken burger?

      • +1

Yeah they don't have the classic one anymore.

        • They do, they just charge you a small fortune for it because it gets put through as the new one minus a few ingredients e.g. grilled chicken with bacon and cheese + no bacon + no cheese. Costs something like $14 for a large meal.

        • Tried it recently and they now use a tough stale piece of grilled chicken breast, not the original soft patty. The bread isn't the same anymore either, it's just a normal bun now.

          Devastated.

  • Cheers

  • -1

    phone is fine

  • When will they have the aussie on the vouches ?

  • Valid only at participating Hungry Jack's stores

Does this mean walk-in and try your luck

    • +1

Most stores are own by HJ however some (especially regional) are independently owned and the owners sometimes 'jack' you around.

  • +3

Darn those Vegan burgers. I have put on so much weight since they came out!

    • Is there a voucher for vegan burgers?

      • They work for vegan burgers.

      • +3

You can switch 'em for Whopper vouchers. Says in the small print.

        • Last time I attempted that, they would not do so as they claimed it was relating to the old vegie burgers and not the new vegan ones.

          • +2

@MissMurd3r: It says there on the whopper vouchers in the small print 'vegan cheeseburger' and it's been there on the voucher shortly after the vegan cheeseburgers came out.

            • @Orinocho: Yeah, I recalled after I wrote my message that back when I attempted to swap them out, the vouchers only had "vegie burger" on them rather than the new ones that now have "vegan cheeseburger" specifically on them.

      • +1

Just use the whopper vouchers. If you read the small print on them it works for those (Says vegan cheeseburger on them).

  • These kind of suck now

  • +1

    Phone is fine

  • Hate the fact that HJ's have started to charge for extras like tomatoes, beetroots, lettuce etc. $3.45 brekky with tomatoes was the best then

  • Can I use these coupons at Cairns Airport?

  • Or Sydney Airport?

    • +1

Didn't work last time I tried at Melbourne airport

    • +1

Works fine inside T3. Have done so ~5 times.

      • +1

Ditto, I work at Melbourne airport and I use them frequently(at the HJ's in Qantas (T1) and the one inbetween T1 and T2). Their Ice cream/Milkshake machines never work though which is annoying when you shake and win a free cone.

I can't speak for the airside HJ's once you've been through international security though.

        • I should have been more specific. I was answering the donamique query. It works in T3 at Sydney, airside.

Only other HJs at Sydney Airport is T1 international, near check-in counter G. Not airside. Haven't used that one.

        • I just tried and got knocked back for coupons and S&W airside international at Melbourne Airport.

          • @tencap: Thanks for this. To be fair though this should be irrelevant, a true ozbargainer should not enter any international departures area without having already secured a lounge pass in some shape or form prior to entry. Therefore negating the need to spend any money at HJ's. :-)

            • @Poolprouk: what are the ways you can get free lounge pass? and does a lounge pass entitle you to free food and drinks?

              Thanks

              • @ATTS: Credit cards which give lounge access as part of their benefits.

e.g. Some Amex cards give you access to the Amex lounge (Such as the Amex qantas ultimate), some cards will give you priority pass passes to get into the plaza premium lounge for example.

Lounges generally offer free food and drinks.

  • I've shown them vouchers which have expired before and they still gave me the discount haha

    • I wonder if they do it out of inconvenience of telling the customer that its expired / or our of pity

  • Thanks

  • Woot pancakes for brekky again …

  • the burgers are always better….

  • No Meal deal for two?
