I heard there are no AU servers though, which is shit.

    • Yep, typically 300 ping on US servers. The game is decent enough for the price. There is no longer the subscription fee like there was when it first launched and it is quite fun to play.

      • I was really keen on buying this until I found that out. Already used to 80 ping on all games because I'm in WA, don't need another game with 300 lol.

    • I agree it's not great, but are there any MMOs that have Australian servers apart from WoW these days?

      • Are there any MMOs in general? the genre is really dying. It had it's time, now it's the time for battle royale (personally not a fan) and 'story heavy' SP games.

        • Yes - true. The market is far from what it used to be.

There are some on the horizon that have potential (Crowfall, Camelot Unchained, probably others) but there's every chance any new MMOs will remain relatively niche.

        • WoW just keeps steam rolling over the top of them, they just never keep enough people long enough.

        • Final Fantasy XIV is quite big and still growing in popularity while WoW is shrinking. Japanese-based servers are going to give about 150 ping, as there are no Australian servers.

  • is this like an 80 gig download or more? Cos i think by the time i download it free play time is almost over. I think i went to download it in the past on free play wknds and realised the size and was like yeah, nah.

I just went to install it and it's 87 gig. That sucks for a game you can only try for a couple of days without paying for. Don't think I'll bother.

      • Yeah i remembered it being around this size cos it has free play dates now and then and im sure i had this issue before and didnt bother. By the way have i mentioned the LIBERAL GOVERNMENT has ruined internet in this country for decades to come at the behest of their corporate donors and that no person should ever vote Lib under any circumstances? Cos i meant to.

        Also, EAT THE RICH !

        ;)

  • If you like a game then go for it, irrelevant of the ping.
I have never had issues on adsl2 at 500kbs, on nbn50 still the same
Downloading gazillionbits, I guess if it takes you too long, it does not make sense.

I've been playing it for the past year and haven't noticed the 300ping.

    • This… only time ive noticed is playing with more than one pc in same house and watch characters lag on both screens

    • How so? I even notice my 80 ping in CSGO so I don't see how one can not be affected by 300.

      • Even though it does have 300 ping it isn't noticeable like most other games, like pretty much any fps game in which you have more than 100 ping and people kill you through a wall. You will be able to enjoy the game at 300 ping because it only feels like 50-60 ping (abilities have no noticeable delay), but if you are playing the game at the top level where you need to animation cancel, it will be very hard.

        • I understand that it may not be as noticeable as in games like CSGO or Apex etc. But unnoticeable for even casual play just sounds like a complete stretch for me.
