This doesn't even look like its an "ON Sale" price….no cross through the usual $499 - I wonder if they have just reduced the price forever.

I noticed that too, doesn't seem to be advertised as a promotion at all. And the Amazon price is still live at least 24 hours later.

  • I'm still on the fence between this or the Sony. Which is better for Bass peoples?

    • I tried both in a store (so connected to AMPS) and Sony was definitely better for bass. Personally I like bass too but went with the Bose

      • Why is that? Is it because the Bose just has better sound overall?

        • +2

I wouldn't say that, I think most would say Sony sounds better overall. The reason I went with Bose was the only reason I use headphones (specifically with active noise cancelling) is on flights (usually long haul). Hence, comfort is my top priority when deciding between two similar products.

Previously I was given Beats studio wireless headphones and my ears would hurt after a couple hours. I got a similar feeling from the Sony's but not from the Bose. This price isn't particularly great, I got mine for around $315 a few weeks ago. So I'd recommend going into a store to try them for yourself as there's no real harm in waiting.

(Just realised the deal is with JB, so even more reason to go in store and save on delivery)

          • @Sir Flabo: so you would say Bose is more comfortable than the Sony M3? hmm good to know. I always find it hard to tell which one would be more comfortable until i'm wearing it for 30 minutes or more. I guess i can stand around at JB. Thanks for the input

            • @bogak: Hands down more comfortable for my head

          • @Sir Flabo: How long did you try on the Sony to get that feeling of uncomfortability?

            • @spiff: Only tried them on for about 10 minutes but my ears were getting sweaty and I was feeling pressure on my head (not painful at that point) but it was very similar to my beats at 10 minutes in.

The Bose just kind of disappear for me

    • Best bet is to go in and try them out over an extended listening period, not just two minutes. The XM3 has better bass, but the QC35 can connect two two sources and are more comfortable. Neither is perfect, you just have to work out which features mean the most to you. I went for the XM3s but both are great ANC headphones.

  • If you wear glasses get the bose, paid $360 from JB about a month ago.
