720
PROGRAM20

Similar to this deal a few weeks ago this is back for almost the same price ($4 more). According to the ebay listing the price may only be until end of the weekend unlike the actual PROGRAM20 discount promotion. If my 65M series was not still working great probably jump on this.

UPDATE 25/03/2019: Price has dropped a further $9 to $1,690.00

Thanks to r0xz for the original 20% off at Selected Sellers (Maximum Discount $300) @ eBay .

  • What ended up swaying me to the Samsung (this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/445721 ) was the fact that they will shortly be adding AirPlay 2 in a firmware update. As someone with Apple devices but no Apple TV, this will be very handy for me.

I couldn't see the Hisense having either Airplay or Chromecast built-in.. so just another device you need to add?

Personal preference i guess, and spot on what works for you is what matters. I have little interest in the smart features of a TV because they are always inferior to a good media device, such as an nVidia Shield TV or Apple TV. I'm interested in picture quality bang for buck.

      • only thing I wish my LG tv had was the itunes stuff (that my apple tv has), but other than that its apps are excellent.

speaking of apple tv, i use it to stream 4k downloads from my PC through plex tv and infuse, and the quality is amazing.

        • Sure is. My 2 yr old Hisense has Plex app native actually, but i use my shield as its just so much better for everything really.

  • This or a 65" u8000 ..10" less but better picture and simar price

    Pretty awsome deal.

I regret buying the 65 p5 for $800 and not going larger.

    • +2

      • Ditto with my 85 incher.

        • +3

        • YEAH that’s what I want. The 86 ok it’s 4k$ but it’s fine tvs were that price a few years ago. But yeah till we start seing 90-120” it will tie us over. U do need the house for it but.

Very good price. I bought one yesterday for $1796 at Harvey Norman with bonus $150 Rebel e-gift card. Was going to buy one on eBay 20% off deal but a bit worried about the delivery.

    • Did you negotiate/price match to get that price? From what I see their price is 2k now…

      • +1

The Good guys was having VIP night sale of 10% site wide that has brought it down to $1795.50 and when we went to Harvey Norman store in the evening their in-store price was still $2295 while their online store had a one-day-only and online only offer of $1796 with bonus of $150 rebel gift card. So instead of asking them to price-match TGG we just asked them to price match their own online deal and include free delivery.

I set mine up a week or so ago.

Amazing TV! Get it and don't look back.

  • Great TV. Paid $2.5k two years ago. Its a gsme changer

    • Can you offer any comments around speed of turn on, changing channels, app availability, etc? Coming from a Kogan 55" so hoping for substantial improvement in these areas as much as the improved picture.

      • Turns on pretty quick
        Changing channels no issues
Hardly any apps on there but Netflix, Freeview, YouTube and Anyview cast (android) all work quite well

        • +1

Spot on, you beat me it :-)

  • I am going to click on the nu8000 75" once it hit the $1800 mark

common ebay/sellers do some awesome special~

    • +3

Lol. You'll be waiting a while mate.

    • I’d bite the bullet at $2200 but like the other guy said, might be waiting a while.

  • Does anyone know what the US equivalent model number is?
I want to see the review on rtings.

Seems like an excellent deal btw.

The official website doesn’t even show 75inch models. 100inch and 65inch but nothing in between. I’d say you better off looking through whirlpool or other Australia forums for reviews and feedback.

What Operating System does this TV use? I am sick of TVs that take 100 years to turn on.

    • Seems to be VIDAA U 2.5 smart TV interface.

I checked out a Hisense 65" with the same OS in JB recently and asked them to turn it off & on for me, as I'm coming from a Kogan which takes about 20-30 seconds to fire up (and is very clunky changing channels, operating tv guide, etc). I'd estimate 4-6 seconds from off to on? But wasn't exactly timing it. I just knew it was a substantial improvement.

My understanding is this OS is a lot quicker than Android TV, but doesn't have anywhere near the range when it comes to apps. The store rep indicated it would have Netflix & Stan but not the likes of Foxtel Now.

Hopefully others can confirm if the above is correct.

    • Turns on quick I have one and I’d say it’s sub 15 secs maybe even 10

  • Hi there, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this program20 coupon isn't working for me for appliance central products on ebay.
