Seems like a good deal for both, should be eligible for the free games.

  • Decent deal if you want both, but you can get it a little cheaper if you combine this deal with Bing Lee, to get a total $10 off! That's if you don't mind a Galax card instead. Umart Rep also confirmed that the Triple Threat promotion was available with their card, not sure if this MSY card is eligible.

    • A lot of the Australian promo game deals are dealt directly through the manufacturers. So you'd be redeeming your codes by simply heading over to whichever AIB you bought from (provided it's not a grey market card) and providing the invoice+serial. If you buy from the US (like newegg or Amazon), you should be getting codes directly from retailer.

I sure as hell wouldn't take Galax over Asus.

    • Both are non-A binned, but the Asus has the advanced power delivery, and is probably better "quality".

      • Pretty sure this Asus is an A-binned chip as it's OCed from factory (card has dual BIOs).

        https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-RTX2080-A8G-GA…

OC Mode - GPU Boost Clock : 1770 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1515 MHz
Gaming Mode (Default) - GPU Boost Clock : 1740 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1515 MHz

        A stock (non-A) RTX 2080 would have a Boost Clock 1710 MHz.

The base version of the Strix RTX 2080 is "ROG-STRIX-RTX2080-8G-GAMING" (not A8G or O8G) is likely not an A-bin chip.
EDIT: Actually, the base Strix boosts to 1710 normally but 1740 in OC mode. Probably an A-bin as well tbh.
EDIT2: Nvm, base Strix (-8G-) is indeed non-A but the Advanced (-A8G-) and Overclock (-O8G-) versions are A-bins.
Refer to https://www.overclock.net/forum/69-nvidia/1706274-official-n… if anyone needs to find more info

        • Yep, overclock.net is where I got the info from.

          • @Major Mess: If you check the sheet the model of the strix is an A8G, so it is the advanced edition, which is a binned.

            • @Kazusa: I will have to move on to telling myself 8GB is not enough, so I don't buy it. But it is so tempting.

  • Really need a good 2080ti deal!

  • What is with all of the discontinued 2080's and 2080ti's? Are there rumours of nvidia's new cards?

    • Yeah non RTX cards. RTX arent selling well due to steep price, hence 1660TI. Hoping for the 1680TI

      • Yep, after thinking about it for a while, there is probably a condensing of the range of models, which currently looks absurd. Hopefully it will mean some of the more modified cards in the ranges may drop to the "budget"(but expensive) model pricing.

        • +1

Hopefully. 2k for a videocard is absurd. I'm use to paying $700 for a xx70 nvidia card. In one generation they doubled the price for some ray tracing cores no one asked for or uses.

So I'm waiting for rtx 2080 or equivalent to drop under 1k mark.

Finally 2080 at a more decent rip off price!
