Huh. TIL.
I was also curious, looked it up and found this:
WD40 is an oil-based product and many balloons are made out of latex. Oil will dissolve through natural latex products, and a balloon which is already under pressure doesn't need much damage to the latex to create a weak spot where the air will push through. It's the same reason why you never want to use oil-based lubes with latex condoms.
Early price beat of Aldi's Saturday sale.
That's what I mentioned in the post ;)
I sped read it… Badly apparently. :-P lol My bad!
Wonder if Bunnings are trying to beat Aldi?
Did you even read the post?
no
Videos on the Bunnings website not working for me on my tablet for some reason anybody have the same problem?
They have instructional videos on using WD40?!? :-)
Yes two but not working on tablet for me gonna try pc now.
working on PC
Great, cheaper than KY gel
Don't use on condoms. As above info on balloons, it will dissolve latex. So the saving is going to cost you dearly. Aka a baby.
With lead poisoning? Just quietly, not sure lead is great for lady bits either.
You're assuming they are going to use it for condoms. It could be for personal lubrication.
this is a multi use lubricant anyways. should be ok.
All thanks to Aldi
Best use I have for this is killing wasps or any insects. Spray on a big wasp nest, all dead in seconds. Spray along an ant trail. All dead in second, Cockroaches, you guessed it.
WD40 isn’t actually a good long term lubricant. It’s meant for very short term lubrication.
Agree with you here.
However does anyone know of a good long term lubricant for eg. door hinges, garage doors, gates, etc. Something that applies easily and stays on well. (Not wanting grease, too messy and thick).
Thanks in advance.
WD-40 silicone spray lubricant.
Dunnoe about you, but I have the wd 40 silicone spray and this.
The silicone spray seems to last way shorter from my experience. I'd have to respray my door hinges ever 2 months or so whereas the regular wd-40 has lasted 6 months+.
This is an indoor door btw
Powdered graphite, machine oil, or a spray that actually has the word "lubricant" ("penetrant" wouldn't hurt…) written on it.
WD 40 makes a silicon lubricant spray, CRC has a few different varieties, Selleys most likely has them too.Of course, there's a reason everyone uses lithium grease in those applications, but any of these options will be better than a water displacer.
What about something like this https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/503704/tri…
@Ughhh: Yes, that's a machine oil, it will work pretty well. Even indicates it's good for hinges on the packet :)
+1 silicone lubricant for door hinges.
Silicon oil makes my door hinges glide.
@AustriaBargain: Thanks everyone for your kind replies.
Will check them out. Have a nice day folks! :)
Based on my professional opinion, I think Bunnings is price beating Aldi in this week’s catalogue.
this is not the lubricant you are looking for.
You tried too?
C3 PO is a distant cousin to WD 40
What was the original price?
$5.98 (according to pricehipster)
My favourite cologne.

BIG Can for $20 in the USA!!
Multi Use Lubricant? How multi use? Can I use it wherever I need slippery?
Is it good for anal? 😂
Please try and let the fellow OB'ers know.
No, you need a penetrant for that.
https://www.wd40specialist.com/products/penetrating-oil/Username checks out.
I always have an issue getting the last bit out of the aerosol can. It seems like there's liquid left, but not aerosol. My last 2 cans had this. Does anyone else have the same issue.
This stuff is great for popping balloons
