I'd rather pay the 10 bucks extra for a more stable network and better customer support

      • Or use Superloop $90/mth for similar network and better customer support. If you ask nicely they'll throw in a sticky IP for free!

Did I mention better local customer service? ;-)

TPG have always had static IPs

Optus is $70/month. Any reason why this deal is better?

are u kidding me? NEVER go with optus.

source: current optus cable user, multiple dropout and lag waves every day 24/7

nbn has no real place sadly in this world anymore,….

i dont see the point in swapping from my 4g mobile plan that i picked up with the ipad for basicly $15 a month for 300gb of data,,.. speed can vary from 30mbit to 200mbit in some places,.. so really this has all come all too late, and 100mbit is ajoke, atleast we should have had fiber to the home and gigabit, then i might have considered spending the $100 a month, but this is a joke, esp since 5g is coming soon with mim 50mbit speed, the same that the nbn struggles to even provide to people on the 50mbit plan! what a complete and utter cluster cake

    • You will never get unlimited data on a mobile service. Especially not in Australia anytime soon

    • Are you able to elaborate how to get 300gb of data for $15 per month?

  • Honest question: I view Stan and Netflix and Spotify every day which is currently unmetered with Optus. If I move across to ABB, how much data would I need / is it worth paying less (I love the peace of mind to not worry about my download amount while bingeing TV)

    • well i dont think its unmetered 4k is it? dont they cap it to like 1.5mbit?

in any event, not alot i dont think, unless your doing 4k

  • I feel Kogan got better cheap faster plans, their reviews are too pretty good.

    • and they have a free modem worth $75 + too.

    • What is the Kogan plan you are referring to?

  • can i join with them and then cancel after 6 months and probably move to DCSI after as i don't think i'll need unlimited. also considering i've been on ADSL2+ on 1MBPS, i think going to 25 speed will be suffice

    • no contract. i don't see why not

Just asked Aussie if I could cancel my account and sign up to get this deal. They said no.

Can anyone else recommend another ISP who are not douch bags to their long term customers??

Can anyone else recommend another ISP who are not douch bags to their long term customers??

      Haha, no

Exetel, Mate, Plenty out there for $60 50/20, no need to stay with this mob.

      • Mates NBN 50/20 is $75?

        • I have been paying $59.95 for the last 8 months, in vic.

          • @Polak: Well that’s nice, but not available to anyone else wanting to sign up now.

And you’re really suggestion to sign up with a Vocus L3 reseller to save $5 a month (that’s only after the 6 month period with AussieBB)?

    • What plan are you after?

  • Does anyone know if ABB does a credit check to be able to sign up? My SO doesn't want to sign up for anything if so. Thanks.

  • if i disconnected aussie broadband nbn 2 months ago, and now want to go with them, can we still take this deal?

  • I wish there is a deal for NBN 100.

50 just ain't good enough it's worse than my cable for downloads as I got speedboost
    It's $99 vs $80 deal I got. No point

    • The deal does apply to the 100/40 plan though? Comes to $79 for 6 months.

    This "internet" fad won't last.

  • Made the move. Getting 95/35.

    That'll do

  • Currently on telstra cable.
Hfc in the area. Not looking forward to going to nbn.

What are my chances of getting the nbn/Hfc installed as a new connection?
So I can continue to use / pay for telstra as long as I can.

  • Just preordered with the other day as I’m getting connected to NBN soon. Just emailed them to apply this deal :)

    • Did they give you this deal?

Are any NBN RSP's doing this price ongoing for a 50Mpbs? i.e. $59 for 50Mpbs unlimited data.

    • +2

Exetel, which was pretty good for me, is doing this price if you sign up to a 12-month contract. Additional $20 upfront charge, however. Link for convenience: https://www.exetel.com.au/broadband/nbn

      • +2

Can vouch for exetel too.. Im on the same plan/ FTTP

      • Thank you DrPotato!

      • I heard they have previously blocked VPN and other traffic - do they still do this?

        • I don't believe they blocked anything even when other ISPs were doing so on their DNS servers.

No issues accessing VPN (personally used PIA frequently)

          Hope that helps.

  • right now i am with iinet, and my area is finally getting ready for NBN (may 1st).

i dont care about cancellation fee as right now i am paying 89$ for a shitty OFFnet 11/1 speed with 200GB every month.

but once NBN is installed, iinet will have a similar plan - 79.99 for 50/20 unlimited. so on paper, they look the same.

if I cancel my contract with iinet (right now it is ADSL2+off net 200), I need to pay 300$ for the cancellation fee.

so by going to ABB, I am paying 59 for first 6 months, which in comparison to iinet-79.99 I am saving 120$.

so, in theory, I only lose 180$ but getting much better ISP which I totally would love to.

however, I wonder how long does it take to quit iinet and get connected with a new ISP?

I would imagine I have to call iinet to cancel it, and then it takes weeks? (2 or 3?) , and only after my port is free, i can call ABB to hook me up and that is going to take at least another 2 weeks if I am lucky? and that sounds like at least 1 month no internet, that hurts more than 180$ o.0

    am I seeing this correctly?

    • How about complaining and have the contract terminated? That way you save $300. Worth a try.

  • With this offer, can you get the referral bonus too?

    • +3

Not as the person signing up no, only as the referrer.

So basically new customer gets the $20 off for 6 months and the existing customer gets the $50 referral bonus. The person signing up can’t get both.

  • Anyone know if this works with their fetch packages ?
I'm currently with optus and the missus refuses to give up the fetch which narrows our options

  • +1

is it possible to sign up as a new customer even if you have been with aussie in the past at the same address?(currently with another RSP)

  • The code actually had expiry of 31/3 (the live chat person advised this…) as I've just tried to sign up with it and it has expired.

Would anyone have a new code to share? Needing to move away from current provider!

  • Just tried the code and it is expired now

  • I just called them up and they were able to still apply this discount :)

    • I tried to join today and they can give me only $10 off for 6 months or 1 month free. You are lucky..

  • I just signed up. Works fine for me online.

  • I can also confirm that I signed up today with the same code and got the discount for the first 6 months. The sales rep told me it went until the end of April 2019. :)

  • +1

Thank you to anyone else who might have called up or sent in a copy of their letter/flyer! They must have fixed the error on their part. I have also now managed to sign up!! YESS!

  • im note if this question been asked or not. Can i signup with 100/40 then change go NBN 50/20 after 6 months?

    • Sure can. You can change plan every month if you want.

      • Join up on $79 18 months contract with promo code.
Do u know if I will be allowed to downgrade to lower plan $69/m after 6 months?

  • I am changing from adsl2 to nbn.

Nbn installation provide the nbn modem. Then we hook up the wireless router ourself, will the adsl modem/router work as a wireless router when I hook it up to the nbn modem?

Or I need to purchase a/any standalone wifi router to connect to nbn modem?

Edit: it's just that since moving from adsl….these routers becomes useless and collect dust. Any use for them?

    • If the ADSL 2 modem has a wan port that looks like an Ethernet port in the back then you should be able to use it from the nbn modem to the the wan port of the wireless adsl2. You will need to configure it in the settings though to activate router mode.

  • Sogood20 doesn't work.
Invalid when I tried Thursday night ..

Edit: does it need to be on 79 plan to get discount?
Can I join up 79 for first 6 months, then for remaining 12 months contract am i allowed to switch to lower $69 plan??

    • So far as I know for first 6 the code works with 79 or 99 unlimited plan. You can change the plan whenever you want. So, you can stay on 79 plan for first six months paying 59 after 20 discount and later change to any plan. Also you can use a refer a friend code as well.

  • I think now you can not enter both promotion code and referral code anymore, so it is only one or the other

    • True that.. It asks for Promo code / Referral earlier there was a box for referral code and then just below that there was Promo code box.. Bugger

  • Slightly off topic, but…
I'm renting a unit and currently on ADSL. When I checked whether NBN is available for my residential address (assume it as Unit 2, number X, Y Street, Z suburb), NBN is not available. However, NBN is available for number X, Y street, Z suburb. Anyway, I contacted ABB to setup an NBN connection and to claim this offer. I received following replay through their customer service.

NBNco have not activated your address specifically. I am not exactly sure as to why they have skipped over your address, but it will most likely be due to the fact that they do not have any Pits and PCD's to provide your property, and they are require to install another one of these before they can provide a service to your address. We do not have an update as to when this will happen or how long to expect unfortunately. We are unable to place any orders for that address until NBN have released it as ready for sale.

So, my question is "is there anything that I can do to resolve this issue or do I have to wait until NBNco fix it?" TIA.

  • Pointless promo.
They still have their $20 off for 6 months with code. $120 savings vs $79 Savings

    • Opps. wrong post in wrong area. Was surposed tp gp on their 1st month free post

  • Are they likely to extend this? Our NBN is due in about a month. Telstra just sent out a modem but not touching that.

    • you can sign up and delay activation

  • Does anyone have alot of trouble and delay in porting over your existing number from previous provider??

ABB is not very efficient doing this task I find .

Meaning I have to keep my current ISP alive so I dont get my landline number disconnected .
Hence paying extra month of fees to ex-ISP.

Not too good at handling this issue

    • Yes, it took two weeks after my internet service had ported over. I belive this is out of their control though (ACMA rules).

  • Signed up today over phone for HFC 50\20….still need internal…….

    • Appointment in 8 days…..

  • signed up today(move from telstra HFC) and it only took about 30 mins to be connected since singed up.
So quick. well done Aussie broadband!

  • Dang, looking to sign up to 100/40 plan and just missed this deal.

I guess I'll wait for the next one

  • +1

Signed up and NBN date scheduled, all the emails say $79/month and no mention of the discounted $59 for first six months even though I used the promo?

Anyone else get this? Emailed Aussie to confirm
