PSVR on promotion currently. Can't see an end date.
Checked, it scans up in store as well as online.
Normally runs at $399+ so decent discount for anyone who missed out at Boxing day.

I'm very tempted to get this. I've been thinking on and off of getting it for surely over a year now. I guess I should just take the plunge and get it… Either I like or I don't like it, but I'll finally be able to stop thinking about it and wondering. First though, I'm gonna wait for a little more chatter on here, in case someone points out some problem I'm missing…
Try to find a way to demo it yourself if you haven't tried VR before.
I initially became interested after playing Beat Sabers at a convention last year and ended up getting the $229 with Astrobot deal last boxing day.
Games I've enjoyed:
Beat Saber (requires move controllers)
Astrobot
The Invisible Hours
Just Dance 2018 (This one doesn't require VR, but the camera that comes with the VR is the best way to play it. I never thought I'd enjoy this type of game buy it is actually very fun to play with the missus)
I definitely played it more often when I first got it, but it is still fun to take out now and then.
Same here I got it for $229 from JB last year. I bought a few VR games to play including Resident Evil 7 but couldn't get into it. After 5 minutes my body started sweating and eyes feeling uncomfortable and I started vomiting. People recommended you should play with a fan or airconditioning blowing into your face. I couldn't be bother since I don't really have much time to game. Anyway it's been sitting collecting dust since. I've used it for about 2-3 hours since I bought it.

A podcast I listen to (DLC) raves about VR games….still can't see me actually sitting in my lounge room and playing them…
I had a psvr a couple months ago and had nothing but issues with tracking. Ended up getting a replacement but had the same issues. Had the world rocking backwards and forwards constantly. It was very subtle but noticeable if I looked for it. Drove me crazy! Almost certain is was something in my room triggering it. Weather it be lighting or a mirror or something. In saying all that the experience playing it was super fun. Hopefully they release a new one made from the ground up rather than reusing old tech.
$260.10 through ebay using promo code PLAN10.
I got one back with the astrobot as well. use it now and then for rally game and astrobot and the luge game that comes as a demo. Use it for about 10-15 minutes and have to go have a lie down cause I feel so crook. Wanna puke. Other than that tis fun.
Got to agree with this. Full VR games make me extremely sick if I play for around 30 min, even for hours afterwards/sometimes the next day. Has put me off playing it a bit, but it’s really worth it.
That said I watch movies/play standard games using the VR just about every night and if it wasn’t for the screen door effect there’d be no better experience. I also rarely feel sick at all doing this.
PSVR is awesome, highly recommended for newbies to VR - it’ll keep you entertained for about a year I’d say.
Next level up is Rift/Vive but you’ll need a decent 1070 system to run the games that are coming out now. I have a Rift and am on it every day for 30mins to an hour.
Something to keep in mind, I feel Sony is offering these deals because the Oculus Quest might be coming out in a month. It’s slated as ‘the console for VR’ as it doesn’t need a PC, cables or any external sensors. Plus the lens quality is meant to be better than Rift / Vive. If you have $500 I’d wait for the announcement next week at GDC before buying into Sony

Is it its own platform, or will it play the games of Rift/Vive?
$500 is a lot to pay. Is it like a suped up GearVR but with a phone built in?
Amazon have price matched.
