    Presumably not using a 737-MAX.

    • No, I believe they've gone the airbus route - lots of A320 Neos.

Didn't Jetstar used to fly to Lombok and stopped few years back? Demand must be back.

Jetstar stopped flying between Perth and Lombok on 17 October 2014.

Had a fantastic time climbing Mt Rinjani a few years ago, but I cant see Lombok ever becoming a new Bali.

  • What is Lombok?

    • a vegetable

      • a fruit actually

  • I have been to Lombok several times. It's nothing like Bali. Never will be.
Flew there from Perth on Christmas eve 2013 direct with Jetstar on our first visit. Last min decision.
Since then we;ve gone through Lombok from Bali on the way to the Gili Islands.
Lombok is aiming for Halal tourism. In other words, Islamic visitors.

There's a good reason things didn't work out for JQ when they operated the route.
I'm not sure how long this will last with Air Asia.

    • I went twice in 2014, I wouldn't say it's aimed at halal tourism.

Kuta is a really nice surf village, we had a really nice stay at the Novatel.

Sengigi was a chill little town with some nice affordable villas etc.

      Gili T is great.

  • I know some people who'll love it - those who surf in West Sumbawa, their trip has just become a lot more convenient.

Lombok itself has quite a few things to offer too, great snorkelling at the other Gilis (not the big 3), stunning waterfalls, Rinjani. And still enough Balinese people to see friendly smiles not hidden by headgear and who happily serve you beer and tasty pork dishes :-)

    • Well I'll be damned. Still will wait for them to build it. They suggest the starting date is October this year. The new airport took much longer than expected because the locals stole the building equipment and concrete etc. Hopefully they've learned from their mistakes.

  • Hi Guys,

Would you know how long this deal ends?
BilPoint is not available most of the time and it is very expensive to pay with CARD
