  Has anyone used this as a simple beard clipper?

  I've been using those on a normal electric shaver but they're a bit flimsy and looking to upgrade.

    You'd be wasting half of it.
    This bodygroom has clippers at one end, and foil shaver on the other.
    You'd be better off with just clippers.
