  • No sous vide?

    This or the instant pot?

  • heaps of bells and whistles

Anyone got a suggestion for one without all that? I just need a simple decent pressure cooker for 6 months…

Tefal Neo 5. Simple, good reviews, cheap, used for a year and its bulletproof.

  • Just a word of warning, COOK4ME does not appear to have a slow cooker function, if that's something you are looking for.

  • I have the fast slow pro. It's pretty good. We use it mainly for brown rice (2 cups of brown rice, 2 cups of water, high pressure 20 mins fast release = perfect every time). We use it mainly for brown rice.

Pressure cooking things does cook things faster but its really easy to overcook things like chicken etc making them really dry. YMMV.

    • That's why I like to slow cook things :) Also, use chicken thighs instead of chicken breast, as its harder to overcook :)

    • Isn't that overkill to cook rice

      • White rice, yes, brown rice, no. Well, I think anyway. It's perfect and really fluffy and amazing…

Boiling brown rice on the stove for agggessss is really annoying. This way we always eat brown rice instead of white and revel in the health benefits (I don't know if these are huge, it makes me feel better thinking there is).
