    did you order 2?

    2 or more 8.99
    20 or more 8.45
    50 or more 8.25
    200 or more 7.99
    500 or more 7.49

    .

    • +1

      Yes, I ordered 4…

I actually needed them for this weekend so I’ll see how they go delivery wise.

Also, I could’ve rocked on down to the local vaping store to grab some but that would cost me at least an extra $3-4 per cell and the OzB in me says that this is not gonna fly…so I’ll see how it goes!

    • +1

      1000 or more how much?

  • +3

is it really a good buy? where else can i order 18650

  • price is not too bad

  • +1

The panasonic NCR 18650B is what I use for my q8, it works great.

    • +1

Unprotected cells are better for the Q8.

      • -1

"We highly recommend the use of protected cells."

In description for the q8 ad

        • +1

I get you, but that's just the manufacturer covering their behind. The Q8 comes with low voltage protection, so it's safe enough. Cooler running temperatures. Brighter on turbo. No parasitic draining worries etc.

Just ask the BLF guys (and girl) who designed it.

  • +2

also caved to the latest Q8 deal
ended up purchasing 8 IMALENT Samsung 30Q 3000mAh Protected 18650 HIGH DRAIN 15A Li-ion batteries from local ebay seller thats currently still available with the PLUSMORE code for $59.96

    • Got a link?

    • I’ll grab these for my rotable stock, thanks!

    • How did you get it down to $59.96 ? Mine comes up at $63.71 for 8 cells (after PLUSMORE) - price gone up ?

      • i think you have to have ebayplus otherwise they charge you delivery

      • I just checked price history and they put it up by $5 (original price from 74.95 to 79.95)) some time in the last hour)! I guess I technically saved over $100 by not buying these batteries and the Q8 - Neither of which I needed whatsoever!

  • I want to repair my electric bike battery pack. I am new to this and was wondering if it can be a DYI project. Some suggestions from fellow OzBargainers knowledgeable in this area would be helpful.

    • +1

Yes it would be easy if you got some basic knowledge about electronics and some common sense, otherwise you may lose both hands and one leg or worse even die while fixing it

      • +1

I have watched some YouTube video and was planning to buy a multimeter to check if i have any dead cell. If i find one than replace that if not than change the BMS.

        • You'd need to solder it, otherwise spot weld (ideally)

          • +1

@upsidedownlemon: Do NOT solder batteries. That's a great way to overheat the cells and have them blow up in your face.

            • @Tacooo: ^this, this and this.

              DO NOT SOLDER BATTERIES!!!

            • @Tacooo: Too late… already done it many hundreds of times.

    • Yeah, I've heard of people harvesting laptop batteries to build their own DIY powerwalls

    • Nipple top isn't ideal for that. It can be a DIY project but there's a fair bit to learn.

  • I bought a pair of these from ebay to replace the batteries in my Soundblaster Roar SR20A. I got 2 for about $15. Seller was in HK

    • Those are flat tops.

      • Is there a benefit to button tops vs flat tops?

        • Depending on what torch you're using, you may require one or the other for the battery to make contact at both ends. One size does not fit all at times…

  • +4

    Hello my vaper friends

    • I thought mod boxes only took flat tops

      • Mod boxes take whatever they're designed to.

  • -2

How do these compare with Eneloops?

    • +3

      They don't.
      They are completely different.

    • +1

      18650 3.7V compared to AA 1.2V

      completely different

    • +1

These are bigger. In every aspect.

    • +1

This is a legit question. I also don't know how you can use this on daily stuff like torch, RC Car, etc.

Usually they take 1.5v so with this, what's the consequence?

      • +1

You don't use this with anything you have bought from a brick and mortar store. It is not anything like AA battery and won't fit into anything of the sort.

You will know you need it generally for torches you bought off the net.

Been using them for years and they are awesome cell format for torches. You also need a special charger for the these cells too. Most handle charging AA and AAA cells too as a bonus.

  • +5

I would rip Aldi 20V battery for $30 to get 10 Samsung 18650 cells. They give about 2000 mAh for $3 each.

  • Their description goes between saying nipple top and flat top so which is it?

    • It looks like part of the description has been copied from the flat tops & the only way to differentiate between the two is the picture itself…

  • am i wrong? same seller on eBay sells.this 16.88 for two. cheaper than the deal op got

  • How do I charge these ?

    • +5

      With a charger!

    • by licking them

      • +2

I'm not retarded.. Im asking a serious question. Which charger should i get to charge these?

        • Just search 18650 charger.

I use a liitoKala lii-100, or just an old powerbank i pulled the front off. Either seems to work fine.

        • Another vote for the LiitoKala Lii-402! Very happy with mine and can also handle standard 1.5V rechargeables.

        • I've been using the Nitecore D4.. and it seems to work OK.

        • I’ll second the Nitecore D4

        • You may not be retarded but I don't think it's a good safety sign if you want to use lithium ion cells but asking this sort of question if you're being serious.

          • @dufflover: As far as I know lithium ion is common in rechargeable batteries and safe to use. Why wouldn't it be?

            • @Overcomerak: "Safe to use" is wrong. They're only safe to use so far as the user isn't an absolute dolt that knows what they're doing and using the proper equipment.

            • @Overcomerak: Lithium ion batteries are common, but only a handful of consumer devices (e.g. torches, vape, RC models) you directly buy and use lithium ion cells.
Tools, phones, tablets, shavers, vacuums, etc. all use Li-ion battery packs, with all the associated balancing and protections built in.

Look at the Note 7 if you want an example of what happens if you get it wrong.

  • Buy 500 and make your own Tesla

    • +3

You will need 7,104 of these to make P85D and 8,256 of these to make P100D.

  • Anyone know if this the pointy top version of the 18650 battery is identical to this flat top 18650?
In terms of performance & charging ability?

Trying to find a spare battery for my Zhiyun Crane 2 Gimbal, but the original batteries that came with the gimbal has the pointy top.
I've looked around, even local vape shop, but all of them only sells the flat top version.

Also there are a few variants of the 18650 batteries from various manufacturer (Sony, Samsung, LG, etc) that has different Amp.
Apparently the Sony version labeled as 30Amp 2600mah? Does that mean Sony's version is a very high powered battery that drains very fast?

    • This is one of the better 18650 batteries I like them… the Sony VTC6 is arguably slightly better. They are both relatively high amp high drain

    • +1

It is not recommended to mix different brands/types of batteries unless they are known to be a good match. Mixing different cells not only lowers performance, but can shorten the life of the cells.

    • -1

Worst case if you'd rather stick to the same brand you could always solder on a faux button top on it. That's what I do with the (not many) 18650s I've recovered from old laptop packs.

      • -2

If you're soldering batteries at all you should be banned from owning them. Great way to win the Darwin award when they blow up in your face.

        • Only if you're an idiot who holds a soldering iron there for ages, without any of the usual safety measures which you would have even for the few that own a spot welder.

          • @dufflover: The only batteries that should ever be soldered, and only if you have ample experience, are the ones with solder tabs already spot welded onto them. Anything else and you're a moron, plain and simple.

You're talking about being an idiot when soldering batteries in a thread where people are asking how to use these in consumer grade electronics. Best not to give out shit advice at all.

    • It's only high drain if the device they're connected to is high drain. The device will only pull as much current as is needed. You should do a lot of research before buying these as they're very dangerous in the wrong hands.

  • The new eneloops

  • Everytime I need cells I keep on forgetting which cells to get. I'm talking about 3500mAh. Pana/Sanyo, LG or SDI?

Happy with 10A, but more interested in cycle count vs capacity. I know that 3500mAh are not that popular, but any ideas now that these cells have been out for sometime.

    • Higher storage capacity will normally mean lower discharge current and probably fewer cycles.

      • Yeah, I'm reading about it now…bloody complex topic. The more I read the more complex it gets. I'll probably get GA's as it's much of much-ness between LG & SDI

  • Bought a pair of them, and arrived today.

One of them looks unsafe to use, and the other has a small spot, unsure if safe or not to use.

  • Found a much cheaper way to buy Samsung 18650 cells!
    https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/100pcs-lot-Lithium-…

    • 100pcs/lot Lithium Battery 18650 Enclosure ICR18650-26FM Battery Cover Skin PVC Heat Shrink Film 2600mAh Power Capacity Label

This product does not contain a battery

      • Yes, it was a somewhat bad joke about relabelling cheaper cells.
