$1740 at the dell store, ~$1500 at other outlets…it's a huge deal.
1080p….fail.
2560 x 1080?
2560 due to wide screen. Technically still a 1080 panel.
oh right. i guess if it was 2560 x 1440 itd be 1440p? Either way, i have a ROG PG348 3440 x 1440 and almost immediately regretted its $1300 price tag. well maybe not the price, but Im definitely sure Ultra wide screen panels arent for me.
@ToxicCrusader: The 1440p Verizon is $1400 on dell eBay right now
@[Deactivated]: Just wish it had better colour. No freesync is a bit of negative as well
@ToxicCrusader: No, it would still be unclear because it's missing half the resolution and pointlessly indicating that it's a progressive display like every other computer monitor.
@Diji1: oh fair enough, thanks for informing. I just assumed 2560 x 1080 was the same as 1440p, but after i googled and the posts here realised it wasnt the case.
@ToxicCrusader: I regret my purchase a little too. Spent $1250 when they were super hyped and found that most of the games I played weren't compatible with the resolution, so you are left with an ugly stretched screen or black bars making it the equivalent of a 27 inch monitor. When it works though, it' definitely the best experience money can buy.
Ahhhhhhh. My eyes.
interesting, have you tried a 2560 x 1080? ?
I have owned a 35" one for over a year and I'd have described the experience as "Beautiful" and "immersive."or perhaps its just cool to hate
Or perhaps you just haven't seen or used anything better.
What's your point? Regardless of resolution, it's still a very nice monitor deserving of its price.
Sure, for a couple hundred extra you can get a 144p Ultrawide, but at what cost? Quality, warranty, refresh rate etc. all have to be considered.Like sitting 10cm away from screen.
This is equivalent to a 27" 1920x1080 monitor at 16:9… pixels are very noticeable, which is why 27" is more the sweet spot for 2560x1440, so if you're then stretching the aspect ratio and going wider, it makes sense to carry that into the 3440x1440 territory.
Of course they're not horrible, or else why would manufacturers continue to push them out year after year, there's a market for it. But if you can afford it and appreciate the at least 70% more screen real-estate then it's worth the jump up in ppi.
got this https://www.ple.com.au/Products/626957/AOC-AGON-AG352QCX-35-…
for 680
Was thinking it was the 1440p version! Damn
Decent deal but still pretty hard to justify given $200-300 more gets you an X34P/similar 1440p even without discounts
The problem is the $1000 you spend on a monitor and you lack the resolution to make your games look really good.
Anti aliasing helps, but isn't the same.
check out the LG 32gk850g-b ticks all the boxes (144hz, 32", 1440p, gsync) and can be had for between $700-800 from futu on ebay
VA panel is a no go mate, thanks for the suggestion though :)
OMG, I thought it was 3418DW….my bad lol.
Good deal.
