Don't mind my ignorance but what's the advantage of this over semi-decent ones (~$30) from Bunnings?
it's all in the descriptions, this is electronic impact protection
These are electronic, they allow you to have a conversation and hear commands when at the gun range or race track,
Does that mean that there's no hearing protection until a loud noise then the hearing protection turns on? Or the hearing protection is always on but ramps up as the environment gets louder? I want some new earmuffs but for working in data centers which are loud but not gun range or circular saw type loud, just a constant noise over a long period of time so some hearing protection but the ability to talk to people too would be nice.
Hearing protection is always "on". (and pretty decent NRR as well; 31 dB. Most standard muffs will be about 27.)
It just has a mic on the outside and a speaker on the inside.
Speaker plays what the mic hears, unless the level on the mic is too high.@coxymla: Thank you .. that explains it perfectly.
Camel^3 doesn't have much data for AU, but $85 doesn't seem to be a terribly good price considering.
Current US price is US$54. Pretty sure I bought them under US$40.
If you don't need them right now I would consider waiting until the Amazon US price is below US$47.I wish these had bluetooth for music streaming and taking calls like these:
https://www.bunnings.com.au/3m-worktunes-call-connect-earmuf…There's a version with Bluetooth. They were posted here a few months ago.
But bluetooth and active/electronic seem to be rare, it doesn't look like Howard Leight/Honeywell makes any. 3M does but they're almost $700!

The bluetooth version is still $99 here…

I kinda wish id purchased them… but i was worried about bluetooth dropouts.
I were apple airpods under the noise cancelling ones to listen to music while i wash roofs.. they fit under nicely without discomfort.
Are those otherwise identical? You would have to be mad not to pay the extra 15 bucks for Bluetooth surely?
I'm pretty sure the Sync earpro does not have active amplification of speech.

Just over $100 from Amazon.
I don't know, I think I'd rather use my own wireless buds on the inside of standard muffs. I suppose I don't have talking ability then.
These cans apparently limit connected audio to 82db also which may be annoying? Not sure how long battery lasts…
I SHOULD ADD.. I PURCHASED THEM FROM THIS EXACT SELLER… AND THE PRODUCT IS GENUINE AND FANTASTIC.
