Ban These Stupid Maccas "Hacks"

Nuff said. They're a waste of site space. They're nothing but joke posts disguised as bargains.

Posts that provide no value at all, without even the comic relief of a joke ought to be banned. Should start with the post I have left this comment on.

You seem to have missed the point where this is in site discussion. Hence it's a discussion post. You can leave now, thanks.

You seem to have missed the point where I made a similar argument as you. So if you are in the right then so am I. I don't need your permission to stay, thanks

@Tacooo: You seem to miss the point where if you are expecting a discussion you wont always find people agreeing with you and creating new threads just to disagree with you. I don't really care what you need, I'd just like to show some good ol disdain myself.

@0FoxGiven: You two make a cute couple.

              • @Jekyll: I know right! :)

                • @0FoxGiven: Only point is that this a site discussion, not a deal post.

@0FoxGiven: aw wanted to see a longer chain of arguments back and forth that have equal weight from them…..sad my entertainment for the day has been cut short….

I disagree as some are really informative. Ones removing meat for example are good for the vegetarians to spice up the very limited offering. While others like buying a soft serve + frozen coke is better than a McSpider as you get more soft serve and a cone!

    • +3

Im sure vegetarians already know how to order without reading useless hacks on OzB

      • +3

The popularity of such deals disagree with you.

      • +3

As a vegetarian I find them helpful. Yes, I can go to Maccas and pay a lot of money for a cheese burger with no meat and some fries and leave feeling hungry. If I see a deal for a $2 quarter pounder I think damn that’s a good deal for meat eaters and move on. Someone with either more brains or more time than me works out if you remove the meat on this deal, you get the burger and $1 towards fries and make a cheap snack that maccas likely still profits on and I’m happy.

Maccas will never be the first choice for vegetarians since they don’t cater for it, but sometimes out of convenience or to go with family/friends etc we end up there.

Someone with either more brains or more time than me works out

It's because they eat meat so their brain functions better

The word 'vegetarian' is an old Red-indian term meaning 'Bad hunter'

      • What about the ones who claim they are vegetarian and then eat fish?

        • They're what you call pescetarian.

          • @Clear: That's what we call them, they still call themselves vegetarian though.

    • +3

I object to them on principle - the very obvious principle that everyone on the Internet's needs and wants are exactly the same as mine, and if I don't want it no one should have it.

      /thread.

do they even have any vego options? the best vego hack at maccas is to see if there are late shift indian workers and if they are vegetarian ask them to make whatever they would make for themselves

went with a mate once who got an awesome completely off-menu onion ring and salad burger thanks to the foreign workers being awesome on a quiet night

Then don't click on them, simple.

    • +3

      Will never catch on

But there's something that exists on the internet that I don't like! It should be banned and removed immediately!

      • +2

        I know, right!

        People are so inconsiderate.

  • +4

I like them. Grabbed myself a vego quarter pounder today and stuffed it with free fries from HJs shake and win. Shame I'm in Adelaide or it would have come with a free frozen coke to boot! My partner did that nugget burger hack and brought home spare nuggets! I know for a fact he wouldn't have thought of it if he didn't see it here first.

    • How can we get a vego quarter pounder? Link please

  • is site space in short supply?

    • +5

Internet is running low on black pixels.

    • Funny joke, although it's more to do with the fact that if we allow those type of 'deals', where does it end? Where do the moderators draw the line of what's considered to be a deal or not?

      • -2

next thing they'll allow people to post everytime a mini snes is available for RRP…….

Wasting your time OP - these sort of posts would never have existed in the original home of Ozbargain (a thread at whirlpool), or in the younger years of the ozbargain website. But the demographics have changed somewhat and now the average ozbargain user is an overweight, lower middle class (or just plain 'ol working class) individual who enjoys meatless pickle burgers at Maccas - or at least enjoys talking about them.

    Nah, I like em.

  • You can block McDonalds from appear on your OzBargin feed or newsletter. You just need to click hide on the deal page.

    • -4

I don't want to block all Maccas deals. I want to ban these dumb hacks which take you 15 mins to put together on an app that runs like it's based on a Raspberry Pi connected to a 56k modem.

      • Then don't use the app? Use the self service machines instead. Much easier and quicker than waiting at the counter.

  • Link to 'stupid maccas hack'?

  • I agree with you, but ozbargain isn't run by people with any common sense so it will never happen.

  • Can't you turn any burger into veg burger by asking them to remove the meat??

Pro tip: if you order a cheeseburger, minus the meat patty, minus buns, minus pickles, minus sauce and minus cheese, it's $0.00!!!!

  • I find the posts amusing. Been a very long time since I dined there but I love the ingenuity of those who post.
