    • Makes the boost mobile deal so much more enticing.

      • +2

LOL. Except this one is less money for more data.

        • Works out to be $2.5 cheaper per month than Boost. I'd go Boost for the Telstra network if you ever leave major population centres. Go Lebara if your phone doesn't support Band 28.

          • @ruskiromka: Horses for courses. If you frequent places with Voda coverage might as well have the 50% more data for less money, but if you go to remote bush areas frequently then go Boost. QED.

          • @ruskiromka: which boost deal are you comparing the 2? I'm just porting over to boost now and need to pick the recharge plan tonight. Thanks!

            • @isabelle: I think they're talking about Boost's $300 for 12 months w/ 240GB (avg 20gb/Mo) vs Lebara 2 x$135 6 months with 30GB/Mo.

The Lebara small also works out to be more value (even as an existing customer) compared to Boost's $100 6 months w/ 60GB (avg 10GB/Mo) vs Lebara $100 6 months with 12GB/Mo.

If you do international calls, you'll have to look into that further.

              But Boost's $150 12 months 80GB (avg 6.67GB/Mo) isn't bad if that's all you need.

      • This one has monthly data, Boost has yearly data. With this one you won't need to add a recharge until after the end of the plan. So Lebara could end up being much cheaper.

      Network?

        Vodafone.

    Hmmm
Been with Lebara for years yet i have to pay more …

I know what you mean, I'm in the same boat.

That's the hopeless private sector for you: they waste money on constantly aquiring customers while ripping off their existing ones who are dumb enough to stick around. Neoliberal economists call this being efficient for reasons they cannot explain but that's because the theory is there to justify extracting money and nothing else.

It's automatically way more work than a Government monopoly even without the pathetic customer service levels of these cheap telcos. And the cheap telcos are still more expensive than a Governnment monopoly.

        • LOL. I guess you weren't around in the Telecom monopoly days. You could be on a waitlist for 2 years to get a landline, and calling the UK or similar would cost $2 per minute. We've got the best, cheapest, most efficient telecomms we've ever had since we ended the government monopoly. And there was no customer service under the monopoly, because there were no customers. You were described as a subscriber. I'm afraid that government monopolies have never worked anywhere in the world, and neither have private sector ones, especially in telecoms.

  • Which network provider do they use? Any issues with the net usage?

    • Vodafone. No probs for me, check their coverage map if nervous about that aspect, otherwise I don't know what you mean by "net usage".

  • The 12 gb plan seems much cheaper than the Kogan almost equivalent, would I be able to buy 2 vouchers and stack?

    • This seems to be for new customers (80$) you can stack up to 24 months by paying 100$ for 6 180 days.

    • Yes, you can stack.

    • +2

      Hi there,
If you are a new customer, you can port into Lebara Mobile for $80 for our 180 day SMALL plan.
Once your porting goes through you can stack the plan upto 24 months for $100 via recharge page ( $100 because you would be an existing customer once your porting has been completed)
      Hope this helps.

$180 for a year 12GB is still pretty good, will ask my hubs if hes looking for 12 or 30gb, thanks ! :)

      • Hi rep, can I buy a Sim from Coles and activate this plan? Also please confirm if this plan offer. Is until 15/03/2019. Cheers

        • Hi there,
Yes you certainly can. Please use the link below to activate your Lebara service once you have the $2 Starter SIM pack.
Choose the Small180/ Large 180 plan on the plan selection page.

Offer ends midnight March 15, 2019.

          Link: https://secure2.lebara-mobile.com.au/activation?_ga=2.244476…

      • Hello again! is there a time limit we have to activate this? My phone contract only ends after 21st April.

        • Hi @MeesusEff,

You would have to port-in/ activate/ recharge before midnight March 15, 2019 to get the plans at the promo price.

  • Boohoo kogan you got beat, hello lebara, goodbye kogan

  • FFS just bought the Kogan 12 month plan a few days ago…

    • +1

How much is that at the moment? And how much data?

      • $205 for 13GB a month, still pretty good.

  • +1

Offers ends 15/03/2019. Perfect for me as my Kogan plan ends that day😁

    • Better buy a lottery ticket!

  • Why no Deal for the medium plan?

    • +1

There was a deal for the medium plan, it expired yesterday. Early bird catches the worm.

      • Bummer

  • +3

$20 more for existing customer? Alrighty, mine expired end of this month, will jump to boost then, shame on you Lebara

    • Why no port out and back?

      • It takes time and I’m sure they have a t&c that how long you have to be not with them to be eligible as “new customer” again?

  • +3

You would think they would be looking after there existing customers with all the competition that’s going on …

    • Totally agree… I don't understand the logic as to why you wouldn't want to reward loyalty. I would buy at $80 but not for 25% more like here.
To me it seems like trading discrimination. If there is an competitive offer or deal to be had then why not make it available for all?
I am sure most companies would actively grow both their customer base and satisfaction levels with a policy for all.

  • -1

    good deal

  • It takes time and I’m sure they have a t&c that how long you have to be not with them to be eligible as “new customer” again?

  • For New customers, the cheaper deal seems better than the Boost. Is it only because it upsets existing customers or is there more that I am missing?

  • My kogan plan actually expires end of March, If I want to make use of this great deal. Can I purchase this with the offer and wait til end of the month to activate it? Or do I have to activate it before the 15th of March?

    Thanks

    • Hi there,
You would have to port into Lebara before March 15th to avail the promotion.
Please feel free to call our team at 1300126122 should you require any assistance with porting.

      • Thanks for the reply. I have just placed an order for the sim. Is it correct to say as long as I purchase the plan and port my number before the end of March 15th then I should be good?

  • +1

    Hi All,

Lebara has introduced data rollover this morning. Customers can bank up to 200GB of data.
    Thanks,

    Team Lebara

    • So exsting customer also gets data bank? My wife use lebara 180 days plan. She still has 4 months more.

      • Yes that's right. It is applicable to existing customers too.

        • That is excellent news!

  • How long will it take to ship the SIM want to port before 13th hopefully.

    • Just buy a $2 sim from Coles or Woollies.

  • I just joined and ported to Lebara today, but my account, data(current) shows only 6144MB. It should be 12GB. Why it only shoes 6GB? Where is Bonus 6GB?

    • Call support on 126122 from your mobile.

      • They said originally it has 6GB, so if I use 6GB then, bonus 6GB it will be added. Bonus 6GB will not go to DATA BANK.

I need to use original 6GB first, and then I can use Bonus 6GB which will not move to data bank if I don't use.

        • Doesn't sound right. Hopefully the associate will show up with an explanation.

  • anyone from Lebara can help me?
how do I get a tax invoice for purchasing the recharge? just says its recharged with a reference number however no tax invoice has been sent so far..

    • PM the associate.
