Why does QLD get all the KFC deals…..

    • +7

All? We miss out on many deals. As for why they’re different, because they are owned by a different company up here.

Colin’s Food owns QLD/NT KFC, Sizzler and Taco Bell.

      • Any idea if chicken grow faster in QLD, thus all these deals?

        • Drought, they had to cut back livestock and sell it off.

Yeah I know ironic with the recent rain, but it wasn't like that 6-12 months ago.

      • Colins own KFC and Sizzler in WA too.

    • KFC QLD is franchise-owned by Collins Foods not the Yum Group original company.

      • Yum Group original company.

Yum are just another company franchising from the real original company in the US right? Not like Sanders started Yum Group.

        • +5

Nope, Yum! is actually the parent company for Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and WingStreet among few others.

      • Yet both have been slowly stripping ingrediants in the spice mix.
        Tis a sad day.

        • Yet both have been slowly stripping

You got me excited for a sec there mate =p

        • It was eleven as I recall. How many are we down to?

    • +2

Because they have to put up with Pauline Hanson, Clive Palmer and Bob Katter

      • +2

Considering the state of the NT government, why isn't chicken free there?

      • -4

        Commie detected

      • I'm so glad you didn't respond to the slowly stripping comment with this xD

    • They have a lot of chicken to unload from their deep freeze warehouses after supply lines were cut off during the tornado or whatever happened up there. Don't watch Qld news sorry.

      • I'm pretty sure it was a cyclone, but it's OK. Most of us don't even remember Adelaide still exists.

        • +1

What's an Adelaide? is that the new item on KFC menu?

      • +1

        tornado or whatever

        ….ok then.

    • +1

      Where else but Queensland baby!!

      #proudbrisbanite

    • -1

      QLD most obese state

    • Because they are all fat and dumb up there. A large percentage of queenslanders end up becoming obese and diabetic from constantly eating junk food.

  • I'm in Victoria anyway, but just to make me more jealous is this valid for hot N spicy too?

    • +2

Why wouldn’t it be. Hot n Spicy ain’t anything special up here.

      • +4

You guys are a lucky bunch.

        • +11

You’re forgetting the best part. No one up here watches AFL.

          • -1

@PainToad: But we all have to be polite and pretend to listen to the token southern state Mexican in the office when he goes off on a tangent

            • +2

@Joey Jo Jo: Downvoted by token southern state Mexicans who know in their heart no one cares about their winter sports talk around the water cooler XD

      • Hot N Spicy available like once or twice a year in VIC :(

        • +2

Victoria Gardens Food court has it all year round.

        • +1

More like once every two years for the promotion. It's kind of crazy, every time they do it my local goes bonkers because of the promo. I don't think they did it last year, but I'm pretty certain they did it in 2017.

As mentioned though Vic Gardens has Hot & Spicy all year round, well worth the drive.

          • @Ghost47: Wonder why Vic Gardens can do it, the space is small and others with more room can not. The new stores at Carlton and Hawthorn seem to offer a reduced menu compared to the others (Same owner I guess)

Don't forget the Free Parking offers.
            https://www.vicgardenssc.com.au/centre-info/parking-at-victo…

When looking for a parking spot, look at the roof of the aisle, you will see red/green lights, Green is an open spot, Red taken.

Insert Significant other, Kids into Ikea, head to KFC and enjoy, that gives you 4 hours free parking when they buy something $6.50 or more and they can't get out until they go through the entire store Evil

There is also the 12 & 109 trams connecting from North Richmond train station.

There is a nice Lawn area out the back the of the food court if you want to relax in the sun.

It's not a dog park, so no mutts annoying you or leaving surprises.

            • @Tom2222: Yeah I'm not sure, I'd heard a while ago that they were not under the same franchisers as other stores or something, so that's why they can do it.. I don't know how correct that is though.

I always park in the downstairs carpark (coming from Barkers Rd). I recall it used to be 1st hour free but they started charging, might be remembering that wrong as I haven't been in a while.

              • @Ghost47: If you get the manager they will check the free chips & drink survey code to see if it is valid.

Had them check a number of times, once failed, even though it was done via the website, still gave it to me.

  • Doesn't Collins own KFC WA too?

Wonder if we're going to get the 21 for 21.

  • I'm still looking for the 20 for ten deal as posted earlier….
    Okkk, 10 tenders, 10 nuggets….

    Make Australia Obese Again

    • +1

      21 pieces at a time

  • well guess it depends on how many wings they put into the bucket …wish they did a deal with no wings included …..

    • A while ago I was doing the 9 pieces for $9.95 Tuesdays and would ask at the counter for no breast and extra thigh. They would always oblige and my receipt would have it printed on it what I asked for. Thigh is my favorite and without fail 5 of those 9 pieces would be thigh. Three weeks in a row then I didn't go back for ages as it got a bit too much.

      • +4

That's the worst name I ever heard.

  • +2

Come to nsw. We'll give you tax breaks and subsidies!..

    • But we won't give you a decent public transport. Or we'll close it down every few months for a year to upgrade it.

  • +1

Lucky we have one next door! I think the freezer is going to get a workout!

    • You will definitely need a workout after eating this.

  • -5

Better price per piece of chicken compared to $9.95 for 9 pieces.

Depends which pieces they give you.

    • +3

No, it doesnt depend on that. He stated that it is a better price per piece, which it is.
He didn’t say it was better value.
This is payback for the black isn’t a colour thing. Ha ha

      • +1

He didn’t say it was better value.

        Good point… You win.

        • +1

Gracious in defeat. Well played sir

  • -2

do such deals eventually lead to T2 diabetes?

    • +4

      T2 diabetes?

      Is it all T2 teas?

They didn't tell me about that in-store… :O

      • +17

I thought it meant Terminator 2 diabetes.

In three years, KFC will become the largest supplier of food. All KFC stores are upgraded with KFC computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fry with a perfect operational record. The KFC Bucket Bill is passed. The 21 pieces for $2 goes online August 4th, 2019. Eating decisions are removed from strategic healthcare. KFC begins to learn at a gastronomic rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the deep fryer oil plug.

'…The future of mankind rests on going back in time to assassinate the evil warlord - Colonel Sanders, in order to save us from judgement day and KFC ruling the world with its greasy, crispy chicken final solution'.

    • If you're unable to keep even a modicum of self-control and discretion over what you eat then sure!

For even faster results don't keep physically active or take any responsibility and blame it on society/your GP/the neighbour's dog!

      KFC, it's heart-stoppingly good

  • +2

Genuinely shocked, I eat this stuff and know it ain't good for me. Offering it at this price I feel encourages me to grab it due to the cost effectiveness. Now I know how to excerise and counter balance this….most people dont/cant. Ripping bargain

    • the last sentence was a full 180 from where u were going with the rest of your comment.

      • +2

It is a great insight into how some people's brains work, right? lol.

In his mind, he knew 21 pcs of fried chicken was self-harming, but was determined to make that choice anyway, at any cost. He then searched his brain for self-validation; he could afford it, and has a perceived superior exercise regime. Validation was then complete. Rippin Bargain! lol

    • +1

How do you counter balance eating 21 pieces of lard infused chicken?

    • You could always use some of the chicken to make a chicken soup, minus the coating of course.

      • +1

Buy 10, ask for it in 9 peice boxes, go to the carpark and sell the first lot as the rest cooks to the people with a hour wait on chicken. $1 profit each or $23 profit total plus 3 peices to eat.

        • +1

I'll be honest, I sure as heck wouldn't be buying chicken from someone in the carpark

    • +1

Man it must suck being such a killjoy.

  • QLD have all the luck :)

  • How long a time period would the average bachelor Ozbargainer need to demolish this to themselves and washed down with what?

  • Amen, six friends and yourself and it's a decent feed! Just grab some cheap cans from the supermarket, tray of chips, salad and you're laughing! (Because you don't win friends with salad…)

    • +1

      3 pieces each? Nah bro

      • -1

Sounds like someone has a unhealthy BMI

        • Sounds like someone has a stick up their bum.

        • -1

Fat shaming is apparently allowed on OzB now….

  • +2

The real deal is QLD getting Hot and Spicy all year round iirc.

  • I'm not seeing this deal on my app this morning? Yes I'm in Qld.

    • +1

      Starts in 2 days (Thursday)

  • +2

My arteries are quivering just thinking about this deal.

  • +2

    21 chicken for $21

By Grabthar's Hammer, What a Savings!

  • Are others still getting the 9 for $9.95 on Tuesday? Husband said the last two times he went in (Albany Creek) it was $10.95.

So this deal is even better value by comparison, but 21 pieces is too much since he's the only one in the house that eats chicken lol
