Come on, like they are really going to let you know their cost price, then we'd know how much proft they make on each product!

Normally the stores are not allowed or permitted to go below store cost + 10%. Basically this offer is 5% off the lowest price Retravision previously offered. Great time to buy TVs and large appliances
I highly doubt they will sell you at their "cost" price + 5%.
I also don't recognise any of the retravision stores listed there… any in sydney?

"cost" in this sense includes not only inventory costs, but operating expenses and such.
This covers completely all the costs they need to sell you the product, which really means they're making 5% pure profit.
Yes, you are right jimmyly. Same with HarveyNorman, talk with a good enough customer rep and they'll look up their "cost" price to see what they can do you a deal for. But the cost price is whatever their operating, shelving, rent, staff wages % on top of what it actually costs them. Anything more than that is pure profit.
100% verified - they'll say "oh online places are selling cheaper than our cost" but that's BS. Very unlikely they'll go below this "cost price" though.
I've bought a few things from HN at an advertised price and it WAS below their "cost price". The first time the rep showed me this on the screen. All they have to do is override this with a push of the Y button. So they CAN go below cost price. Just tell them some BS about coming back for more purchases in the future and recommending the salesman to friends. Its in your best interest to find out if HN, Retravision, Good Guys, etc. are the best price for you :-)

A good way to find out how genuine their pries are, check out their cable prices. Generally, cables has like x00% markup. A standard RCA cable 1M is probably around $3 cost!
Too bad the Retravision across the street (in Kingsford) is not participating. Also, how do you know what is the "Store Cost"?
