[NSW] Free Trees for City of Sydney Residents at 10am on 30/3 @ Sydney Park [First 1,000]

250

We’re giving away 1,000 trees to City of Sydney local area residents from 10am on Saturday 30 March 2019 at Sydney Park.

You can enjoy a sausage sizzle and chat to City staff about tips and advice on how to plant trees and general tree maintenance.

  • Free trees are only available to residents who live in the City of Sydney local area (you can check your address at the link to see if you're eligible)
  • Please bring identification on the day that clearly shows your current residential address.
  • Each eligible household is entitled to up to 2 free trees, before they run out.
  • The event is popular and parking is limited, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Thanks OP, April fools on my favourite neighbors sorted!

  • Any idea how mature the trees are? Some good-looking trees in that list!

    • They’re usually pretty small still. If you want your pick get there early.
One year I went and there were about 3 types left.

    • I used to get the free Sutherland Shire trees and they were tube stock. I assume CoS is the same.

  • So where in the concrete jungle will you be planting these ?

    • Wait….they have trees in Sydney city?

      • More than they have in the suburbs, where the whole housing estate gets leveled.

    • CoS is much bigger and has a lot more urban residential than you think. My street has a lot of shrubs planted on the nature strip where most people have grass.

Either through laziness or environmental concern, there appear to be a lot more trees than when i lived 20km south of Sydney CBD.

My courtyard(s) have 13 large planter boxes. I have frangipani, cordylions, palm tree, lilli pilli, tomatoes, spinach, basil, mint, parsley.

  • Don’t bother the queue is about 2km long. No chance. Apprently people were lining up at 8am
