Scared the crap out of me … didn't realise that and already placed the order… LOL
Luckily my motherboard's M2 slots appear to support both though so no issues - or is that the norm?
Cheers
Shouldn't be an issue big chief. You just won't get nvme speeds, and depending on your motherboard it will take one of your sata ports offline.
Check your motherboard manual, especially if it has 2 m.2 slots and is using an Intel based chipset.
Some motherboards only support m.2/SATA3 on one of the m.2 slots. Generally, it is the one which only supports PCIe x2. Also, it is likely using that slot for m2/SATA3 disables another SATA3 port (due to the limitation of the chipset).
Cheers … looks like both slots are ok … but will make sure to switch them around if there is any funny business.
Thanks to both of you for the advice
2 x M.2 Socket 3 connectors (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 SATA & PCIe x4/x2/x1 SSD support)
Great deal!
Was just looking for an extra M2 drive to run some VMs on
Cheers
What is delivery cost from mightyape?~
Gonna wait for a $150 1TB 860 evo. Should've bought earlier in the year dammit, prices seem to be going back up?
Not really, just the samsung cashback was a really good offer. Bought a 970EVO 1TB and 860EVO 1TB.
says 220 now?
Loaded the page and showed $97, after signing into my account it comes up as the regular $220. Bait and switch.
everyone copies Amazon
I think you were just slightly too late and they updated the price in that one minute window it took you to log in, which is unfortunate timing. It always showed $220 for me because I didn't see the deal until a couple of hours too late.
It did say "only 1 left" and after logging in it says 1-2 days dispatch from supplier so it was very close!
$220 here
FYI, this has the B + M keying so will operate at 2x bandwidth so half the speed of the M key type.
P.S. This is not mSATA.
2x bandwidth but half the speed? You might need to clarify that.
2x instead of 4x.
Ah thanks.
The 2.5" 500GB looks like a decent price at the moment too. $111.90 delivered.
Good deal, note that this is a SATA M.2 not NVME
