Standard shipping cost? Have to go through checkout before it tells you.

You're listing the item here for $35.20, the description says ex-GST so that makes it $38.72. Your website has the item with the displayed price of $32 with the ex-GST disclaimer waaaaaaaaaaaay down in the item description. Purchasing the item shows $32.00 but then changes it to $35.20 at the checkout. The offer here is a business-to-consumer, not business-to-business so you can't claim a price is ex-GST, and your website cannot show the price exclusive of taxes even if it's mentioned two whole pages down. At checkout you can show the GST component, but you can't suddenly add it when the consumer is expecting to pay the displayed price.

    Component pricing
When you present prices to your customers, you must state the total price of the good or service as a single figure, which is the minimum total cost that is able to be calculated. This should include any tax, duty, fee, levy or other additional charges (e.g. GST or airport tax). This rule generally does not apply in business-to-business transactions. This means you do not need to include GST if a price statement is made exclusively to businesses.

Please help your customers avoid confusion!

I actually thought I could put these to use; went through the process of selecting two, noted GST added as mentioned by bUrd above, input address for delivery, and there it was:

additional $166.00 for delivery to Melbourne

    Walked away.

    • Most of our orders are larger, hence the high shipping price. We can offer discounted shipping for small orders if you contact us directly. Thanks

I bought 2 of these a couple of years ago:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EDUUIA/ref=ppx_od_dt_b…

    About $40 delivered.

Work great, stuck on the floor with double sided tape. Have been rock solid ever since they were stuck down.

…or buy a 2m piece of round pine split pole for a few bucks?

  • Bunnings were selling them for $10 a few weeks ago.
