      1.5tb has been around for at least the past 8 years. just check out all the past deals for them on OzBargain. Just that 1.5tb is not very common these days as it's more economical to produce and sell 1 & 2tb drives.

      That's because Seagates fail more regularly than other brands. In over 35 years in IT I've seen more Seagate disk failures than most other brands.

        That increases your chance of failure if you're buying two drives. Unless you're backing up the same data on each drive then it's better.
