Any idea of included data and if these can be activated as long life?

Looking for something for my elderly mother's tablet…she probably only uses 300Mb/month

      There is no $40 long expiry plan from Telstra.

  Vodafone has cheaper data rates for long life plans. Their 365 Plus plan charges 2c/MB, so 300MB is $6/month. Or have a look at this deal and comments for Belong starter pack: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/437448. With referral credits, the $13 spend can get you 6 months worth of plans with 1GB/month.
