Just has quick search on ozbargain, This is not cheapest bargain…

    • +3

I beg to differ, before posting I searched OzBargain, eBay/AliExpress and Chinese retailers such as GearBest, Banggood & Geekbuying and it's the cheapest price available at the moment.

If you mean it has been cheaper in the past, then yes it has been.

      • +1

Yeh, I have been semi regularly price checking this, and this is the cheapest I've seen for a long while. Ebay has been over $20~ for months.

        Good find adr8, thanks.

        Yep, that I meant.

    • Just has quick read on this, this is not the smartest comment…

I am a tight_A but not tried to be smart_A

    • You've never posted a bargain…

  • Does this need the hub?

    • No, you can access it via your phone / Bluetooth if you need too. However it works by itself.

    • It needs the hub if you want to store historical data.

I got caught out buying this one…I thought historical weather data was stored in the device itself.

  • I think it's a no, but can I link this to ifttt?
If not does anyone know of a cheap thermometer I can link to ifttt?
I don't really want to use HA, or program a chip and sensor…

    • I'm in the same bucket, considering building a 8266 device to do same. This however does appear to work with HomeAssistant if your device has Bluetooth, I'm using raspberry pi zero W and hope to make this work using:
      https://www.home-assistant.io/components/sensor.mitemp_bt/

I tried to buy 3 in one hit, but the discount only applies to 1 item.

      • Might want to try separate orders, worked for me in the past when I wanted to order more than one using the coupon. Coupon may be limited to 2 orders per account though.

      • I went with a 8266 due to WiFi vs Bluetooth.

We've got 30 of them around the college (mains powered).

The xaiomi would be good if you need a battery solution.

  • Would upvote this, but past experiences with dresslily had me waiting almost a month before my order shipped out (small xiaomi bag)…
