It's also around $418 direct flight (return trip) from June onwards - via their flight group (Tianjin/Hainan Air)

    Wow that's amazing.

If I was single I would jump on this for fun!

yes, but remember, Chinese Visa costs money and/or time for processing before flying out.

      • Yeah upwards of $140+

        • Going to Beijing in 3 weeks - only cost me $109.

Worst smog of any Chinese city I've visited in recent years. The airport is far less busy than the Beijing and Shanghai airports - greater chance you'll make your connection through to somewhere you want to go. I had to transfer at a time of day there was no bus between International and Domestic terminals, in some spots there was footpath.

Does the plane actually fly for this price or is it towed along by a container ship. Just asking…

    Dodgy airline

  • I flew this route within a week of Tianjin Airlines starting it in Nov 17. Cost around $340ish then, can't complain. Food was average, they had beer but no spirits (same as all the other Chinese Airlines). Small movie selection. Received 40 VA credits each way which was great. Wouldn't hesitate to fly again if I go back to Chongqing. Great city to go rooftopping in (if you're into that).

    • What's rooftopping?

      • Climbing on building rooftops such as this (not my photo): https://static1.squarespace.com/static/55bec126e4b02db713e4c…

What's the legality of roof topping in China and are there any forums I can start reading to get into it?

          • @Buny: It's illegal, though I've never been in real trouble. Have never been caught in Mainland China. Was caught in Hong Kong by security, they took us downstairs, yelled at us, and told us never to come back.

Not sure about forums, we have friends over in China that know which buildings are easy to access the room. In HK though we just did trial and error until we could get up.

            • @jeppetto367: Do you know any resources for it in Australia? Like common routes and like tricks to doing it? I've always been interested but too scared to try.

        • Sounds like a good way to get deported

    • I thought you need the flight yo be a "VA" flight to earn status?

    • I've been to china a few times and loved it but never been rooftopping there as I've always worried about being caught by Chinese police - I imagine they'd be pretty brutal over there. Did you have any issues?

      • Pasting my comment from above

It’s a major world city with a population larger than that of Australia.

      • Isn't every city there larger than the population of Australia?
