  • great price

    From an online review

The result is photos with a surprisingly charming analog, lo-fi feel, but since you're stuck with Fujifilm's Instax film for printing, you'll pay $1.35 cents per credit card size photo.

    • Wonder if a 3rd party will come along to try and undercut the film required.

70-80c if you wait for an ebay code and buy in bulk.

I'm surprised there arent any 'compatible' film options out yet - does anyone know the backstory? Is it copyrighted like nespresso pods once were?

I got one of these from HN just before xmas for $99 and it's actually brilliant. Gets you the nice old school look without the risk of wasting a film on an over/under exposed shot. Obviously being on OzB the cost of film isn't for everyone, but if this is your kinda jam then I'd highly recommend this printer.

  • Is there any bluetooth alternatives to this? Bluetooth must be much more handy I reckon?

    • +1

      bluetooth has slower transfer rate.
bluetooth has more complex pairing sequence.

      • If I use a phone to hotspot, and my phone and this printer connect to that hotspot, I can print the film pretty much everywhere right?

        • +2

I think this printer "provides" its own wifi, and your phone need to connect to it to print.

  • Couldn't tell from the product description on HN but how much film do you get with the printer?

    • None, have to buy separate

  • +1

Will pick up one later today. I think my wife will love it

  • Anyone aware of any shipster trials that are still going ?
