  • Anyone used that shelf? Thinking to put one in garage.

    • Not sure if the same one, but we have an identical one at home. It has a lot of stuff on it. It does the job.

Bunnings has a similar one. They're good value for a shelf. However, they are an absolute PAIN to put together.

      • +2

Yup, make sure you have some leather gloves and a rubber mallet handy or you'll curse yourself silly assembling it.

      • +1

This. I cursed it. You will not want to take it apart once you're done. Takes a lot of your time. Time is money. If rather wait for the big shelves to go on sale that just snap into place.

        • 100% this.

Better to pay a bit extra for the snap in ones and save yourself the time and backache putting these together

    • +1

I've bought 8 of these from Bunnings, double stacked them to build 4 floor to ceiling shelves of varying heights to fit just about every random item that needed a space. Cheap, neat and sturdy enough.

      • +2

Did you do anything to secure the top one onto the bottom or is it stable enough by itself?

        • +1

They were effectively a continuous leg made up of several pieces bolted together.

    • +1

I had 2 that I stacked and bolted to wall at my old place. I left them behind as they were such a pain to assemble and I figured dis-assembly would be worse.
The reason is they use odd sized square nuts and cross head screws so you cant use a drill driver and proper spanner.

I bought screwless units from Bunnings. Theyy wer <$50 and are much easier to assemble and nicer to look at

  • Yup they take ages to assemble the shelves, but once assembled they do the job.

I have exposed timber studs in my garage and had screwed the shelves to the studs so they dont wobble at all!

  • +1

I've got the same shelf. Be careful when assembling as you can cut yourself.

  • +2

Got 4x these shelves. Passive pain to put together, not super sturdy but great value for money

Can it be used in Ford Fiesta 2014 WZ, 1.5 Litre GTDi T/Engine, 6-Spd DCT ????

    • No this oil is not suitable. You need A5/B5 oil that meets at least Ford M2C-913C specs.

It’s a shame you missed out on the Penrite A5/B5 that was on sale a few days ago.

Also, are you sure you’re not talking about the 1.0 Ecoboost DCT fiesta, didn’t come in a 1.5 Ecoboost with a DCT.

      • Yes, I missed that offer which was a few days ago.
Yes my car is Ford Fiesta 2014 WZ, 1.5 Litre GTDi T/Engine, 6-Spd DCT

  • I just bought two of the shelves from Bunnings for my garden shed :( Two side-by-side is a perfect fit for my shed, and the height is perfect (most shelving units are 1.8m high which makes them useless for the average garden shed).

    • Is it just me or is the only oil coming up on special the 5W-40? I think the post might need editing.

So many SCA sales, so little money..

  • drawing on the collective knowledge - i bought some things on the 20% off sale recently that i noticed are now on a bigger sale - will the difference be credited to my account? reading the wording i'm not sure, interested if anyone has experience with that

    Club Plus Price Promise
If a product you’ve purchased goes on special within two weeks, we’ll credit the difference direct to your Club Account.

    • Credit will be applied as long as you used your card on the initial purchase.

      • ah cool thats good. was wondering because it was already on sale, just not as good as the 2nd sale. i purchased online while logged in so assume i will get it soon, although my credit still shows zero

Put together a shelf last night, feels like they've improved it since I last bought one of these shelves (in 2015) as there was no more sharp edges. Still a pain in the arse to assemble though but at least it wont injure you!

    • Yeah I put one together 2 days ago too and it was no worries.
