Cashrewards is offering $5 cashback on 30 day Catch Connect plans, all of which are currently reduced to $4.90.

Could be useful as a porting option if you took advantage of the recent amaysim deals.

To disable auto-recharge once the SIM has been activated:

Note: While I have never found it to be an issue myself, there have been reports of slow port times with Catch Connect.

      My experience with Catch is that my data is used up muck quicker than I expected (compared to amaysim or kogan).

  • How do you turn off Auto Recharge and/or remove your saved credit card details on Catch Connect? TIA.

    • You need to activate the plan first, cannot do it before sim arrives.

      • Yeah, I used a deal a couple of weeks ago and can't for the life of me figure it out. Thought I'd ask the cheeky question here…

        • To be absolutely sure they can't charge you change your card to a debit card and leave like $1 on that account.

            • @Skinnerr: It's not a direct debit arrangement. If someone charges your debit card without enough balance it will simply be declined the same way your credit card is over the limit.

    Anyone know what that means? We get 99% of a 24 month or 36 month plan with tablet or modem refunded?!?! Sounds too good to be true so didn't want to post as deal.

      • Thanks! I missed that. For the vodafone prepaid, I assume the cashbacks are based on the full amounts as well, like this offer and Amaysim.

  • catch connect force people to recharge? i heard that can't disable auto-renew/auto-rechage and can't remove debit/credit card but to call them…Kogan-amysim-…ect among that i used never had any problem, remove card or disable auto-renew and port out after it expire…

        thanks for clearing it up…have ago at catch connect next month, for some reason can't trust cashrewards.

        • Use Cashreward through desktop and U should be fine. Can't trust the app right now, had my last 2 transactions not tracked and tried to claim through the app yesterday, wouldn't let me upload my receipt in the app, or input the transaction date in the mobile website…

    • I find OVO force people to have at least one credit card in their account.

    Still waiting for that $5 OVO cashrewards cashback 2 months after the purchase… Those kinds of deals are a bit risky. Good old kogan for $1 so much better.

    • It’s perfectly normal for cashback to take 90 days, sometimes longer to be approved. Merchants need to allow for the cancellations / returns period to pass before they will pay the cashback provider.

      For reference, the estimated approval date for my OVO purchase on 14/11 is 17/02.

      If an issue does arise, make an enquiry and I’m sure they’ll sort it out for you. They’ve never let me down.

      • Well, you still have not receieved the cashback for OVO same as me, so we can not be sure until it actually happens. And the fact is that OVO gave no references (order IDs) to cashrewards, provides us with a safe bet that a lot of people will have to forget about their $5 eventually.

  • Do we need to still have the service active when Cashreward/shopback issue the cash back or porting out before waves the credit? I'm recycling a couple of number between the different cashback offer and wondering if I should just get new numbers each time for safety?

      Not at all. The only requirement is to activate the SIM within 30 days of purchase. After it’s active, you can do what you like - port, cancel, etc.

    • Thats normal. Click history will show first thing than it will track it and appear later and usually cashback takes 1-3 months dependent on the product/special terms.

      • You should have received an email from Cashrewards indicting the your order was tracked. Plus if you look in your Cashback area you should see the $5 for this although wont be available as actual cash until 01/05/19

  • SLOW PORT TIMES - are you kidding? I just got my 375GB sim, activated it and 10 minutes later my number was ported and phone and data ready to go. Never seen anything like it. BTW It was ported from Lebara just in case that makes a difference which I sure it does.

    • I started porting last Friday night from Catch Connect and it's still not done yet.
      Possibly an issue with Catch Connect or generally providers on Optus network?

      • Large companies are typical labyrinths Optus, Telstra, etc. They have process upon processes upon processes. I would not blame Catch Connect. All I know is, i did it before I went to bed expecting nothing to happen at least until morning but it was all done and dusted before I made it to bed.

        • I read the comments before porting so I sort of expected it…
          Still, it's quite a long process compared with porting from Telstra to Catch Connect, which took like a few seconds literally.

  • I just checked out and it said "Unfortunately the payment was unsuccessful. Please try again or contact your bank." But I saw it's pending under my bank account. So what does it mean? Will I get my sim card and cashrewards? Cheers

  • slow port is slow, 7hrs and counting.

  • Wow, just got told by cashrewards that the sale was declined by catch connect for no apparent reason.

    Beware and check your cashrewards balances guys!!

    Btw, I used a fresh browser, with no ad blocker and immediately purchased after clicking out. This kind of shaping is just sad, shame on you catch connect.
