Sorry, using the Aussie deals app, it doesn't show when the deal is active once you are in the deal.

        • Have updated the description to be more obvious.

    • LOL, there's always this one person.

  • OMFG, i just brought it on 20% off yesterday, should have waited

      *bought

    • If you are a club member you will get it back

    • Should have read the comments in the SCA post. There was a comment there would be a bowden's sale tomorrow. They just got it wrong by 1 day.

Man, how can you charge so much for 2x plastic buckets and grit guards. Anyone know a cheaper alternative to this?

      I bought 3 of these when they were 50% off - https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-designer-pail-bu…

They fit the 26cm grit guards from Ali Express PERFECTLY. I bought 2 for $7 each (Red and Yellow). Then got some Wash, Rinse and Wheels decals from the UK and stuck them in the gap of the bubbles on the buckets.

Looks mint imho and a cheap alternative.

Thanks! I'll look into the grit guards! Silly question - do you rub your sponge against the grit guard (dirty bucket) to remove any dirt from the previous wipe? Is that the intetention of it? And additionally it traps the dirty stuff at the bottom.

I've been using the two bucket method for a while now, but hadn't known much about grit guards.

        Cheers!

Yeah I'm not sure of the effectiveness really of them but for $7 it can't hurt.

Yes you rub the sponge against it and it's "supposed" to trap the grit underneath so you have cleaner water above.

It's a perfect tight fit for the 26cm guards, you have to push them into the bottom which keeps them tight so they don't spin around.

Looks like that's what I'll be doing, thanks dude 👍🏿

      • I just spray my mitt with the hose instead of using a rinse bucket

    • Autobarn sells grit guards.

      • Not that cheap though and they're all exactly the same essentially, just different designs.

        • I think you really only need 1 grit guard so you can save yourself quite a bit even if you had to get buckets.

          • @FlipCrank: True you only really need it in the rinse but can't hurt for $7 in the wash too

    • these guys are dreaming asking 70 bucks for 2 buckets. $4 food grade white buckets (new) on gumtree & $7 grit guards on Aliexpress.

  • Is this in-store or online?

    • +1

      Yes.

  • Any car gurus like to throw some recommendations out? I have their leather care and applicator bear, heard good things about the big green drying towel, anything else that are 'essential'?

    • +1

Wash mitt seems to have decent reviews.

      • I have the shagtastic sponge, it is just that.

Big Green Sucker as mentioned is fantastic, works just as well as the 'boutique' microfibre drying towel I have.

Nanolicious wash is very economical on sale and leaves behind a longer lasting / more shiny wax than Meg's wash and wax.

Snow Job is a very good foam, normally not worth it at full price but 40% off makes it fairly competitive.

Wheely Clean does a good job on cleaning wheels with a lot of brake dust buildup (Euro cars will benefit most from this, I find my Jap doesn't usually need it).

Leather Love works well for a leather seat conditioner, and gives off that 'new leather' smell. Use liberally or it's easy to use all of it up in 2-3 goes.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, it's only what I've personally used. Most of their range is pretty well regarded.

  • Don't forget discount eGift cards: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards (up to 10%) and cashrewards (6.3%).
I'm going to stack it all for a jockey wheel.

i've been loving the suncorp \giftcard platform - instant delivery is amazing, waiting hours for egiftcards from elsewhere seems so needless given its an entirely digital transaction

How’s the snow cannon from these bad boys?

    • Better quality than the meguiars one from my research but others have said you can get the same off ebay for much less.
I found the knob at the top to adjust the flow of detergent mix too easy to turn. Gets bumped out of placed easily and the next time you go to use it, it would have moved from what you set it at previously.

      • Thanks for the comment, I think at 60 dollars I’ll get an authentic Snow cannon (:

  • what's the best for leather care ? Bowden's Own or autoglym ? Thanks

    • Both work well. Get which ever has the best discount.

  • Bought the boss gloss on 17th when they had 20% off and signed up free for club membership. Received credit today for the lower price!

  • Can't decide between Boss Gloss or Fully Slick!

Has anyone used the Shagtastic or Love Glove? Wondering which is better.

    Thanks

    • I just bought some Boss Gloss, never tried it but worth a punt at $11

  • After looking at their range and prices i decided to just get cloths from Chemical Guys Australia. Prices are cheaper there and quality is about the same per cloth. Their standard 3 pack cloths are $8.50 vs Bowdens $15 for a 2 pack.
