Think he means the 1 game every year formula? I was also about to say, didn’t far cry 5 just come out? Also, to be fair, assassins creed has been following this formula for a long time.
This is a loose, shorter sequel to Far Cry 5 from all reports. Similar to how Blood Dragon was almost like a stand-alone DLC to Far Cry 3.
Which is what turned me off AC, was a follower till they started releasing a game every week (exaggeration).
I'm talking about the comment in the OP about how it's just a reskin of the previous game.
I assume it also refers to the fact that each game is pretty much the same, just in a new place with new enemies and characters, but the same story and events. Also looks like each year there is a 'half new' installment (this one, Blood Dragon, Primal), with a full release every two. As long as they keep punching out decent games that get cheap quickly I will keep buying.
@pdtmathieson: You keep paying more money to play the same game over and over? You're literally the reason these companies don't make new games.
@KLoNe: I keep paying money for a new-ish game that is still better than half the tripe being peddled. If they stop being entertaining, I'll stop buying.

I want to be cynical but I just keep enjoying Far Cry games. Finally pulled the trigger on 5 recently (think it was $29), and I've already played about 20 hours and having a hoot. Even if it's just a re-skin, more content of a good fun game is always good.
I liked it but it was short (maybe coz i was using a trainer - no death) lol
I had to stop playing because of how bad the AI is. I didn't expect much but jesus christ I couldn't deal with it.
They did some stuff right, the environments are cool and there's some fun exploring to be had but it's still Far Cry and very average.

Agreed. More Far Cry is good Far Cry. It's just whacky enough to not get stale like the Assassin's Creed franchise for me.
Although I felt Far Cry 5 was a bit cluttered and the AI was annoying compared to Far Cry 3 and 4. Far Cry 3 being the standout in the series.
Yep, managed to play through 3 a couple of times without getting bored. So far, 4 is also better than 5.

I love Far Cry more than any human being should love something ….but Far Cry 5 sealed the deal - you just don't try anymore. No more. No sale.
Make sure to check reviews as some fundamentals of the game have changed.
Lite RPG elements like item rarity and enemy level (similar to recent AC games) are now in the game, along with seeing damage numbers etc. Enemies are literally invincible if you don't have weapons to match.

the RAGE 2/New Dawn ad stuff is funny. All I thought of when I saw New Dawn is a RAGE 2 clone. Shame RAGE 2 is exclusive to Bethesda launcher
I personally thought Far Cry 5 was great, played the entire thing co-op and I plan on doing the same thing for this game… when it comes down in price.
