    Good Oil.
Thin for an Australian summer, but within spec for a lot of people.
Before people ask, yes, this can be used if your car specs a 0w-30, 0w-20 or 5w-20.

As it's summer, don't go thinner than your factory fill.

  • this might be the cheapest price atm, but if you can wait they usually go for $32ish on a 50% off at super cheap

    • Post it if you see it. I use two of these (7 Litres) for my oil changes.

      • 10L $78.59 A3B4, Cheaper than 2x 5L if you dont need it to be LL.

Its the Ash content that's the problem, My Ute has a DPF and needs Mid SAPS.

        • $69 at Repco

I'm sure I could get away with this for my Skoda, but without being more knowledgeable on the stuff, and discussed with the SC rep (good bloke), I've kept with manufacturers spec for VW 504 00/ 507 00.

          • @OldBugger: This might be helpful.

I think you can use a Low or Mid SAPS oil in place of a more generic petrol engine a3/b4 API SN etc oil, but not the other way around. it would probably be ok to do now and then, but if you have a DPF and EGR on your vehicle, you might run into trouble in the future with excessive sooty carbon build up.

          • @OldBugger: VW 502 00/ 505 00
            MB-Approval 229.3/ 229.5
            * Excludes diesel passenger vehicles fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF).
            From Castrol Website.

            Also own Skoda, with DPF.

Ill stick with the Castrol DPF 507 00

  • I usually buy this once a year for $29 to $35.

Nice quick find, Jace. I just bought this yesterday, price matched down to $64.59. Hats off to SCA who were quick to provide loyalty credit for this mark down today.

Actually I think their whole range of Castrol Edge is 40% off until Sunday. I just bought some now.
