There's drum controllers available online which are supposed to make it a lot better
I imported my copy from the UK with the drum controller. Heaps of fun.
Wish the free DLC from Japan and the US would come up, like gold Don Chan etc.

@kulprit: @kulprit sorry, I was having trouble with this too, I had only redeemed the code off the site when I mentioned the deal :(
I emailed Bandai Namco about it (I also have the EU version) but they only said:
"Thank you for the information. I reached out to our tech specialists and it seems the error code you're receiving is a console-related error code. The fault shouldn't be in the cartridge itself. its tiny and seems to require 600 mL PET bottles to hold it 'more still'.
I found the controls to be horrible on TV mode, tabletop mode is perfectly fine
Any good deals on the base game?
I have the Japanese version, is there any way I can claim it on that?
If you've imported the Japanese copy you'll have to make a Japanese Nintendo account to access their eshop to get DLC.
Have a Google there should be instructions.
You can also change the location of your account I think, but this doesn't work if you have any credit on it.
I already had a Japanese account, don't know why I didn't just try that D:

It's a shame that the motion controls are iffy with this game. It's fine for multiplayer but nowhere near as fun as the arcade version
