Can't you just mention this on the officeworks post below? Same price, just coles vs woolworths.

    oh - people already have.

YEAH, but DSE stores are more than OW.
People can find their nearest DSE store

      • Yeah but your making assumptions about peoples proximity to these stores

I see no problem with this post I mean so if two or three places have the same item for the same special price you should just post it all on the original one? I think it's easier this way for any one viewing the site and for any one posting the deal. So how about you two leave the poor OP alone who is only trying to contribute to the site and just leave these sort of things for the mods to decide.

        • +2

I have 3 DSE stores closer to me then the nearest OW.

        • I have 3 McDonalds stores closer to me than either DSE or OW! :p

  • a MOD should just merge the post.

No need for a mod, I'll fix this…

      …damn, I just remembered I'm not Harry Potter! :p

Not to mention that people have been having difficulty finding stock at some OW stores. More choice is good.

  • Great little printer, though I have the (outdated) 2140

  • I like it cause of the colour.

Most 'current' cheap models are just plain old boring white.

  • I'm using this model right now and bought mine a while ago for $170. Great quality and connects wirelessly no problems. The web interface to the management and statistics panel is great as well. Highly recommended model.

  • Does it come with a 'full' Toner cartridge?
How much is a replacement cartridge and how many [5%] pages does it print approx?

    • +2

Going by the specs on DSE's website, it comes with a "full" standard toner cartridge which is good for 1500 pages.

The best part is that you can replace that TN2130 standard with a TN2150 high yield good for ~2500 pages at 5% coverage! :)

from what I can remember, brother print cartridges are also quite cheap too esp for their quality

    • Yep, and they're easy to refill yourself; or if you're lazy like me there's LOTS of decent generic TN2150 carts around on ebay for ~$30 or less! :)

    • But you also need to replace the drum unit with brother printers

      • Yep that is true. However, IME, when it's drum time (usually after about 5 or 6 TN2150's), it's new printer time with these models! Way cheaper than a new drum & toner alone! ;)

I'd buy from DSE over OW anyday - DSE's return policy is VERY lax, not to mention they have their own warranties etc built into the sale.

  • FYI there was one left at the Taylors lakes store in VIC late this afternoon if you are quick.

  • Got one today from DSE, but was disappointed with the service. Price tag on the floor stock showed $149. Salesman refused to believe it was $99. After about 10min waiting around he finally came back and gave it to me for $99. I guess he checked the website and realised his mistake. Great printer, and good quality, but can'w work out how to set up for wireless printing with my laptop damn it!

    • You need to fisrt connect it to your router with an Ethernet cable and configure the printer in the web browser configuration to tell it your wireless details.

      • Thanks mate.

  • a few left at Knox City DSE near Knox 0Zone. The ticket price was $199 but I showed the website's price to the salesperson and they honored it.

His computer said this model is discontinued, and also listed the $99 price. They had a lesser model ( can't remember the model number. it looked similar but without wifi/lan access ) for $99 on the shelf.

  • Any idea if this works with iOS Airprint?

  • thanks for this, got the last new stock from Dick Smith Springvale.
Wireless set up is a pain, but I got it working after 2 hours -_-""

  • Glen Waverley DSE is closing for renovation, a lot of display units are for sale, the last 2170W is further reduced to $79. :)
