I love a thin sausage. Cooking time is faster. Eating time is sooner.

2 for wife. 2 for toddler. 3 for me.

I never expected my OCD to be so accepting of a package with 7 units.

    • +5

2 for your toddler? Wow, eats as much as your wife.

      • +8

Yep, he’s a real unit. Gonna make us poor once he’s a teenager.

    • +4

My 14 month old eats the same as my wife…shrug 3 weetbix and fruit for brekky!

  • +28

Might snag a few at this price.

  • +8

Mmm 29c per sausage. You can almost taste the lips and arshole already 😍

  • +6

If you're into cheap snags (and I am), the Aldi ones are in general better than Coles or Woolies equivalents in me experience. They are probably a bit fattier in general but the fat is blended through better, and the texture is much more consistent. I'm not averse to the 1.4kg packs either, have they been reduced in line?

    • +1

Agreed. I buy the herb and garlic quite often, $3.49 for 7 pack. Bit more expensive but I enjoy the flavour. One goes down a treat alongside some eggs and baked beans in the morning!

      • I buy the Aldi pork sausages.

I'd eat the cheaper ones but perfer the Pork Sausages due to the flavour and texture.

When I check the ingredients of the cheaper one it just says 'meat' lol

  • +2

    Are these pork or beef?

  • +12

Anyone else read Banana Thin Sausages?

  • +3

    May contain traces of beef.

  • Are these on special or is this price the now regular price?

    • Price tag says new lower price since 02/01/2019. Could be permanent but I'm not sure.

    • +1

It looks like a super saver, online with the kebabs they had for $8 for a few weeks.

      Also their 500g salmon is $12, $24/kg

  • +1

What exactly are they finding to stuff these things with that is worth less than $2/kg ?

    • +3

      Unfortunately it is $4/kg

      • +2

Your correct but by the time you package , market and transport it I doubt their paying more than $2/kg for whatever is going into them .

        • +2

          oh true

        • Prob its mostly fat and crumb.

    • Yeah, it makes me wonder what they put in at $4/kg - I pay about that much just for pig fat to make venison sausages.

    • +1

      Eneloops?

    • It's not exactly primal cuts they're using. Here you go

      • +4

        Far Cry Primal cuts.

  • I find Aldi sausages to be normally very good value.

    • +3

love them in curry sausages, coles & woolworths sasuages are not worth paying for.

      • +1

        Got a recipe to share…?

  • +3

Wut about the price to your health?

    • +4

      I don't see any sugar.

  • i have no idea why but i thought it said bunnings thin sausages

    • Getting old..

  • Absolute bargain @ $4/kg. Don't normally shop at Aldi, but going to give these a crack to see how they compare with my favourite supermarket sausage (Woolies)

  • healthy

  • This thing no good; you must try their German sausage

    • Do you mean their little ones, the berg ones?

      • Yeah, the one that are Kransky, Bratwurst, Knackwurst .. they are GOLD !!!

      • But then, I'm no German; what do I know …

        • +1

You batter know, rice you be in trouble

  • Good. Different.

  • $2 for 7 sausages (500g)

Wow. Never knew it came so cheap in small portions. Definitely scouting my local ALDI (which isn't all that local)

Can't be any worse than Coles or Woolies brand sausages, and get free german sausage spices, herbs etc from my work regularly.

  • They are ok if you grill them on a bbq, most of the fat runs off, don't cook them in a pan….when you see the amount of fat that comes out of them will probably put you off, still better than the majors.

    • Better it comes out into the pan than stays in the snags I suppose…

    • +6

Fat is healthy and makes meat taste good.

    • Bangers and Mash, pour the fat over top of mash = win, don't fear the fat.

      • I’d fear the mash though.

  • +3

Easily the best budget sausages for sausage sizzles.

  • @OP, does this contain MSG?
