I can't believe people paid $89 for this poor copy of monopoly and a competition entry.

Some people like to get scammed. Idiot is born every minute.

    • +24

I can’t believe people watch the show or Australian TV in general.

    • +15

I can't believe people will pay $25 for it!

      • Especially when it has nothing different besides the six game pieces to the regular one or the australian edition which are the same price at big w.

I love spamming comps but I find having to make a purchase to enter goes against the spirit of a comp to begin with. It's almost like a trade but with the likelihood you'll probably get nothing back.

      • Wouldn’t a purchase make it more like a lottery than a competition?

      • Its like the old dial the 0055 numbers

    • +1

Bet the winner isn't thinking that :)

      well 100k copies created
I reckon half got sold, 50k
of that a percentage would not have registered online

      house was worth 2m

cheap lotto ticket with better odds

      • With that said, it was like paying $64 for the entry and if for example half of the 100K were sold that is like $3.2 Million in entry fees, house has paid for itself well over with profit.

      • And keep it sealed then return it now 😂

      • Probably already had a winner before any where shipped to stores

    • That's because the price is in-line with their rip-off renovated properties

      … so it's a perfectly targeted RRP >_<

I can't believe people are commenting about things that they can't believe.

      • +1

        I can’t believe you can’t believe that.

      • Your just not a believer

The Block is possibly the worst show on TV, anyone who purchased this needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

I have no idea what The Block is but comments like this are utterly stupid. There's always someone somewhere that likes a particular thing. It's also got 6.2 on IMDB and 6.9 on TV.com so clearly there are fans out there.

I suppose you could apply your comment to the 'Richmond Tigers' too…

      • +10

        I give your comment a 5.3.

Trump has fans too, having fans still does not make something right.

      • +3

Nah, the block is genuinely horrible reality tv.

    • I do that every morning anyway and don't have to watch the show or buy Monopoly. Winning!

    • I quite enjoy watching it every now and then if I so happen to be watching TV while it's on. I like the design element side of it.

I paid $20 at Target a couple of weeks ago. Worth it for the BBQ, Kookaburra and Meat Pie pieces.

EDIT: My bad - I thought this was about the Australia version.

    • +1

Thats the Australian edition one. Not this.

  • I take it you can't win anything now .. was it instant win? imagine getting one now and having a winning ticket.

    • +2

Nah, the comp was: you needed to buy the board game and that would put you into the draw to win one of the block properties. The $89 price was ridiculous for it originally.

  • +7

WOW 2 of the things I hate most in the world rolled up into a single product!!

    • +1

Now you can double the hate in a single package.

  • I never saw it for $89. What a joke! Who would honestly pay that much for a game? Even with the comp! Wow!

  • +2

    reality tv is getting worse

  • +4

They may as well just give the game away for free now.

The people who won were on the news and pretty much pretended that they were going to live there with their hoard of kids who were busy smashing at the keys of the grand piano. They were from western Sydney, as if they are going to want to move to St Kilda. It probably went on the market the second the ink was dry on the transfer papers.

    • +1

Why would they move - they can sell it and buy 3 X 4 bedroom houses in cambeltown where they live compared to a st kilda apartment and have to uproot the entire family

  • +1

Eww. A pox on board games.
