Seemingly exact same device was/is also sold by Aldi occasionally. Mine failed after 6months (base unit).

I have had two of these from Bunnings. One failed after a year, the other after 6 months. I do not recommend them.

I recommend the ones thats activated when the sensor fails to detect light rather than movement. I've had mine for three years. They use bugger all power and give a decent night light (one in kitchen, one in hallway, one in bathroom). They are cheap, and you can see around the house if not in detail. They don't detach as a torch, but TBH, why would you need that?

my Aldi one has been going for about 2 years now,and thats with 2 kids messing around with it

This price is ok given the quality.

I've had 4 of them, all failed after 8-12 months.

      • Keep the receipt. They come with 12 month warranty when i bought, only had one fail, the other was the battery after a long while. Definitely worth the special. Only wish had angle extensions to direct light.

i have couple of old version lasted many years, this is good coz is chargeable on plug not batteries.

  • xiaomi IR night light

    • All real ozbargainers have a couple of these.
I find these really good and reliable.

Mine light the way to my secret stash of eneloops.

      • There hasn't been a cheaper deal since one in late 2017 sadly

This price will probably expire when Aldi run out of the $12.99 ones from this deal so don't procrastinate.

    • The aldi ones have a 3 year warranty too

  • mine died after 13 months, typical

    • Same, I got 2, and both died after a few months.
I think because it is always left in the cradle.

What you should do is buy this deal, and return your old one with the new receipt for a refund :)

      • you can return, if they're identical in shape & colour ;-)

        • Confirmed o.O

Good for close to a year until the motion sensor stopped working. Still okay as a rechargeable torch/light so far (2-3 years)

Three of mine failed too. Interestingly when I went to Bunnings to replace, they didn't have the model that the OP pictured - it's been replaced by a white version of this: https://www.bunnings.com.au/click-blue-nightguard-rechargeab… - the picture on the website is actually wrong!

Quality control for this product sounds terrible!

  • My local bunnings nad a big dump out table over new years. They had a box of these for $5 eac, bought 2. They work great. Went back to buy more and all gone. Kicking myself.

    ProductReview: https://www.productreview.com.au/p/click-nightguard-clkrt410…

Same for me, failed after a year and when I brought it back to bunnings they told me it has been recalled due to faulty battery. This was a year ago so maybe they've fixed it? Or perhaps they are trying to clear out the old stock?

    • Yeah… many of them complained that automatic function stopped working after one year use but still can be used as torch :).
I think there is no other major issue issue but i think it ok for this price for 1 year atleast ;-)

  • All three of mine failed as well, productreview has very poor ratings:
    https://www.productreview.com.au/p/click-nightguard-clkrt410…

There's an interesting mod in the Q&A though:
    https://www.productreview.com.au/q/hi-could-you-help-please-…

I tried it, but the unit still heated up and failed again after a few months.

  • I have had mine for nearly a year now and it's been great. A couple of times when there was power outage, the light automatically kicked in. I will pick up a few more as spares.

  • My question is does this only activate when its dark or all the time…

    • its off until its dark, then its just faintly lit enough to see around the area. but when it detects your movement it lights up really well

my last one only lasted about a year

  • What's the colour temp on these?

    • +1

      Around 4500k - not warm

  • The pink coloured versions were selling for $2 at Bunnings a few weeks ago. The blue was $7~

    • Might have been worth posting, eh? Went to my local store looking for this deal but the staff couldn't find them. Plenty of the pink and blue, though. Ah well.

I got this one from Ikea, works for a while now, over a year now, but that uses a lot of batteries.

  • No longer available.
