I'm thinking you're indecisive but now I'm not so sure

    $5.50 a pallet is cheap

    • Per piece of turf, not per pallet

last time i checked bunning sells them by half sqm instead of whole sqm like how all the other places quote price. Not sure what size this is?

    • +1

800 x 1.2 approx. Equals 1 square metre per roll.

  • Pretty sure turf is sold per lineal meter

if i remember correctly from when i had my backyard done, the bloke said they harvest the turf early in the morning for use that day.
if it sits out for too long, the grass will die. you also have to water it heaps for the first while.
not sure this is a bargain if you take it home and doesnt take root (just dies)

    • It'll be fine for the day it was cut even if it looks a bit brown but you'd need some decent soil to sit it on then water twice a day for a couple of weeks.. Buffalo has thick roots which will take longer to 'take' than a couch grass.

  • Sir Walter Buffalo 1m2

  • It depends on how long after they’ve delivered the turf as to how cheap it is, but now I don’t think would be the best time to be laying turf because of the increase in numbers of really hot days. I mean it depends on how much turf you need to lay and whether or not it can be watered really regularly, but with a few really hot days after the turf has been laid could conceivably kill of the lawn. I guess what I’m saying is, if it were me, I’d either only lay a small area, or make sure that it has heaps and heaps of water.

  • How much are they usually?

    • $11.90 I believe

      • Bought before for $9.80 in WA and still good

Bunnings almost always discount their Sir Walter rolls late on a Sunday near closing time if they have a decent amount of stock left.

I've seen it down around the $7.50 mark, but $5.50 is really cheap (no doubt because they were sitting on so many pallets of unsold stock at the end of the weekend).

The moral of the story is if you want turf from Bunnings try your luck and wait till Sunday afternoon.

    • Each bunnings is different for turf. Different ordering and delivery days. Some keep stock, some only order when customers ask.

    • I think there was a sad looking pile of buffalo for $5.50 at Maroochydore Bunnings a month or so ago when I was buying it. I only needed one piece so I treated myself to the full price piece.
