took me a while to figure out that I needed to add something from the Amazon USA site to make it cross $49
by default it only seemed to add things from Amazon Australia; so even though the total crossed $49 it still wanted $20 for delivery
the cheapest decent game was Clue @$13
update: as it couldn't be cancelled, Amazon were able to refund the delivery fee :)

They sell counterfeit Catan. Confirmed it just before Christmas.
The quality of the pieces are bad and by Christmas few of the pieces already warped.
It pays to get the original! Especially from a reputable source.

I reckon the original on its own is best. You could get cities and knights Or the 5-6 player expansion. Or seafarers. Or a different game!
You will no doubt find yourself playing with 5 or 6 people at some stage so the expansion is a good idea kemitri.

Got this for the old man for Xmas. Great looking game and had wanted to try it for a while
Finished the first game tonight. Found the instructions a bit poorly presented in terms of the order and guidance for noobs (found googling specific qs quicker) but the gameplay was great. Looking forward to giving it another crack tomorrow
Mine has a QR code on the side of the box saying "learn to play catan without reading any rules" or something. Haven't tried it but seems easy enough.
It's a great game, even my 3yo enjoyed it to some extent, obviously aimed for older kids and adults but still.

My brother brought this when he came to stay for Christmas. I bought it from Amazon when he left. It was just over $50, so free shipping plus got 10% cash rewards. Note just waiting….

Just to tag on here - I picked up three genuine brand new copies of Catan & the 5-6 player expansion for $5 each at CANCON last year. If anyone is around Canberra on Australia Day, the prices are incredibly good.
