  • Are these legit?

    • +9

      No.

    • Yes

(If you use the MAK keys for the company that Microsoft provided them for)

  • +5

Can we not remove these legally questionable deals already?

    • -2

Yeah just hit the report button to assist moderators….

    • can you explain to someone that doesn't know how to spot a non legit copies why this is not legit.

      • +6

The way to spot is - they are a fraction of the standard price.

They get bulk testing licenses which are made for testing systems only and not for real-world use. And they re-sell them many times over.

        • +5

OP has posted tons of these shoddy questionable deals before without removal, doubt the mods will see this one any differently.

          • +3

@miq: Yeah, has a history. I suppose then it is up to the community to neg the op out so it doesn't show on the webpage. People power…

        • They get bulk testing licenses which are made for testing systems only and not for real-world use. And they re-sell them many times over.

That's interesting. I bought one key of presumably dubious origin and it activated on one computer but when I attempted to activate it on another, it did not activate. Said I needed to call Microsoft because hardware had changed.

I don't think the same key can keep being resold. At least not the one I purchased.

Each key can be activated a certain number of times. Not sure whether this is 5, 10, 20 times or what the number specifically is. This is a decision by Microsoft to cut down on false positives. People upgrade their PCs, use the key on 1 or 2 personal systems. These will not cause an activation issue because 99% of people will never reach the threshold.

Resellers will sell the same key over and over 20 times or more (for example). These keys will eventually reach the threshold and cause the activation error. If someone does get an activation error, the key sellers will simply give you another key "free" due to "good customer service".

            • @lysp: I get 500 activations per client os volume key…

        • +4

So you saying that people who sell "non legit" licences should up their price closer to the actual real cost? Then people jump at it because it is a bargain? lol..

      • Is that all?

Because when Telstra shop fire sales things, people doing question the legitimacy of them.

    • -5

You have too much time on your hands Sammy… move on already!!!

      • -1

        Definitely 😉

    • Most ebay discount deals are in breach of our consumer laws. If anything in comparison, these are technically more legitimate.

  • +1

    Anything for adobe collection

    • Yeah. Interested in this too.

  • +5

    DODGY DODGY DODGY!!! AND ILLEGAL!!!

    • -3

But you don't complain when the offences in other deals take place on our soil. What is the go with the double standards?

      • Yes I do.

  • +4

Those Office prices are very expensive by dodgy standards.

    $24.50 on ebay.

    Go profit somewhere else pirate.

    • +2

Free if you crack it which is just as illegal so why pay lol… pointless.

      • …except cracking it requires either you with the knowledge to do it yourself if you don't trust anyone else's(which is fine if you already have the know-how) or risk a virus/malware infection due to cracked software….

  • Are these OEM?

  • +13

Windows 10 pro can come from either retail version, developer or OEM.
OEM is OK to sell to end users (EU) , sometimes these arise because OEMs buy to bundle with machines, but some machines are sold with Linux. In Australia and US and some other parts of the world OEM should be sold with hardware, in the EU it's not the case, and OEM can be moved between machines. Windows 10 now becomes registered to your Microsoft account, not just the machine anymore unlike XP,Win 7,8.

Developer can't be resold, it's licenses you spin up as part of MSDN for testing or development.

Retail is what you buy if you want Microsoft telephones tech support.

You can ring Microsoft if you have a key and they will tell you what sort it is. I run OEM on my home machines, have moved between machines if upgrading and there are no issues due to EU laws. MSDN if key is used too often is blocked by Microsoft.

I'm sure I will get negged by people who are too last to explain why because it's easy to have an opinion but not back it with research and support with facts.

In regards to office, Office Pro is only sold to Education, as part of corporate licenses or MSDN, end user licenses are Office Home, or Office Business…. edu won't work as you need an edu email to activate, so possibly part of MSDN or corporate for Office pro. It's why you never see Office365 cheap.

People need to be specific if slamming things.

If you get a key, Microsoft will verify what type it is over the phone, Ebay will refund if pirated.

The Windows 10 would work fine and be added to your account if OEM, the Office Pro is a very grey area.

You can check with Microsoft what the keys do rather then with people who have a personal opinion but haven't researched or verified as it requires effort.

I will grab a windows 10 license (off ebay so I have paypal protection) for a laptop (I7) I found at hard waste with corrupted Hard drive.

OEM and motherboard upgrades … I had to call Microsoft and they hashed me a new key when my motherboard died but drive was OK… and it's different in EU than USA…OEM new motherboard means phone call and will use up 20 mins of your life as you try to verbally exchange 20+ digit numbers over the phone and get it right. My motherboard died so died vs upgrade is a grey area.

you check what you have, OEM or retail from command prompt with
    slmgr /dlv

    Quote:
The one exception is a motherboard replacement, which will inevitably cause the Software Licensing Management utility to recognize the device as a new PC and require reactivation, typically over the phone. A motherboard upgrade, even if you reuse storage, video, memory, and a case, is considered a new PC. In that case, if the underlying Windows license is from a retail copy, that license can be transferred. If you are upgrading (and not replacing) a motherboard on an OEM PC that was sold with Windows preinstalled, the license agreement prevents the license from being transferred.

    • Just checked my windows key bought off eBay and it was retail. Thanks for the command :)

Just to clarify your comments around Office - its Office Pro PLUS thats only available via Volume Licensing. Office Pro is very much available to all and sundry.

Which doesnt really change the fact that these are dodgy licenses. I can sort of understand why some people would buy cheap ones via Ebay if they dont know how to acquire them via other methods. But at least via Ebay they're cheaper than this and you can make a Paypal claim if they get rescinded quickly.

But these are very expensive for dodgy licenses

    • Windows 10 now becomes registered to your Microsoft account, not just the machine anymore unlike XP,Win 7,8.

That's not what I remember…..you don't need a Microsoft account, you can just use local account…unless they've now removed that option as it has been a while since I last installed windows 10…..

  • +1

If i'm gonna buy a grey market key, I'm gonna go to ebay and buy them for $5.

    • He should have raised his prices to make them look more legit.

  • +3

Dear God, even the sites name sounds dodgy.

  • Need to comment to help neg this dodgy 'deal' and get it removed.

  • +2

Posting to neg. These dodgy key sellers should be banned.

note Germany has different licensing (flexible) for OEM, it's in the EU, and licensing also varies outside of the EU and USA, this is often due to local laws that overwrite the std USA licensing laws.

If you want to help humanity, there are famines, wars and dictators in the world, put your energy into those.

      • What has this got to do with Germany?

Also, I work in the software industry and care about its welfare.

        • it has to with people complains about lee licenses and claiming they are not legit if so,d without hardware ….. different countries have different licensing and that doesn’t mean it is pirated, can depend what country it is sold from.

  • -1

Awesome deal thanks op bought pro and office. Registered fine

    • +3

The issue won't be that they don't register now, the issue will be a couple of weeks or months from now when the volume license is heavily oversubscribed and you'll get a message saying invalid key.

      • I’ve had one for years and it’s worked fine.

        • +2

You can get lucky with these. Sounds like you have.

          • @ash2000: I've had 3x W10 and 3x Office Pro for years and never run into an activation issue.

  • can get cheaper on ebay

  • +3

    Definitely illegal.

    • Why?

  • +9

Hilarious - half of you have probably bought a fake TAG in Bali, the rest recklessly upvote an Amazon price error expecting free vouchers. But when it comes to a questionable Microsoft license you all go completely nuts.

    • +7

you forgot faking the country of residence in order to get cheaper netflix, youtube etc subscriptions :)

  • +2

Trust pilot reviews are dodgy AF.

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/goodoffer24.com

Every 5 star review is from a person who has only reviewed just this site.

  • +5

    Stealing isn’t a bargain.

    • is for some

      • Hardly stealing!

    • You wouldn't steal a key.

    • -5

if you're paying for it, it isn't stealing.

      • +4

You're not paying the owner, you're paying the thief

  • +2

When I was much younger and much more naive, I bought one of these OEM keys on eBay, and it worked fine! I was stoked.

Until it was blacklisted a few months later.

    Avoid.

  • -4

These are not Volume licenses like you nuffies keep saying, "Garage Sale" has actually explained where they are sourced from. They are OEM keys!

    • +2

So?! OEM keys still get blacklisted. These 'deals' are still dodgy AF and I'm bewildered the mods have allowed this user to continue posting.

      • same as the other blatantly illegal posts on here that are allowed such as people posting NZB indexers which is literally the same as a piracy torrent tracker and what happens? its condoned by the mods here and left up

        • what r NZB indexers?
