Did you try ordering online for click and collect or delivery? Seems to be more stock availability that way.
Delivery is free for me.
It shows as "Unavailable online", which I assume means their Sydney warehouse is out of stock.
Ok no worries, Sydney may be out of luck. Works in VIC and QLD.
Do note that JB Hi Fi have this phone at $439.20 if Officeworks stock is an issue.
check if it's the 7.1 or 7 plus ….
So I assume someone managed to price beat JB and Officeworks caught on?
Hrm… legi question, does it mean JB will price beat OW by 10% now?
Why would they do that?
JB price match, they don’t do less on price matches.
OW price match less 5%.
Bunnings do price match less 10% …. they now sell google home mini, but not phones.
is this the single sim or dual sim version?
Single sim
Has band 28, nfc, and pie … sweet phone, I bought one a few weeks ago but paid $529 at JB.
Harvey Norman also dropped the price to 438 . They had plenty yesterday when I bought one matching JB 439.20 (less $50 Amex rebate which just expired).
Baratards, I call my local Harvey Norman on boxing day and they say the best they can do is $500, now I have to wait for JB to deliver.
it will arrive with oreo, but upgrades to pie and dec security patches once you connect to wireless.
very happy with mine although i bought it for $529 a few weeks ago.
surprised not more upvotes considering it’s AU stock, AU charger, AU warranty, band 28, nfc, android one and on pie.
what is a better deal with all that for under $450 ?
Only had mine 48 hours courtesy of the JB deal but very impressed so far!
Was thinking about Nokia 6.1 or moto g6 plus, but I really want longer battery and 2 year warranty.
@worldpc: I'm telling you now, the battery on this thing lasts forever. First phone I ever had that goes the whole day from when I unplug it after getting up to going to sleep.
Locked bootloader, single SIM, not water-resistant, no OIS, no wireless charging, plastic back (though I prefer good plastic), etc. Just lots of small little things that could make you rethink it.
I think it's in that weird price point that no one else does and most people would rather go for a cheaper phone (Mi A2, POCOPHONE, etc) or just step up a little bit (Oneplus 6, Mi Mix 2S, etc). The local Nokia 7 Plus prices were overpriced in comparison to the overseas stock and you got better specs for it so I'm sure a lot of people snapped those up earlier in the year as well.
@spb: many of the china droids in the sub $450 mark don’t have band 28 and no nfc or are not on pie eg poco.
yes, 7 plus was overpriced when released in australia compared to prices from china who were consistently selling at the $400-$450 mark landed, but for some people local warranty and ability to just get from a store might be worth $50 at the current prices.
nice thing so far with my nokia has been the software support, android one with no bloat , and releases are close behind nexus eg camera software upgraded 2 mths after nexus.
never got that sort of support on my redmi note2 or note4 when i bought xiaomi when they were new releases.
the a1 we have will be ebayed and we’ve replaced it with the nokia 6.1 so we get band 28 nfc and pie, got the 6.1 for $317.
Can anyone confirm if OW , HN or JB do price match 10% less ?
If you are looking for Dual SIM with Band 8, 28, as well as extra SD card slot, best value for money (especially if you can find them used) is the Nokia N5.
i was about to get this phone BUT doesn't have dual sims…god damn freaking australia
Very little stock around though, at least in Sydney.
