On a TeraScale of 1-10, that's a 3!
They usually are with most graphic cards, along with Sapphire. But in thise case, an extra $10 for Sapphire.
Good prices :) seeing i paid $750 for a Geforce FX5900 only 3 years ago :)
You sure ? 5900 came out in 2003 (8 years ago).
Yeah I was about to point this out as well
Late adopter ???
LOL
Back then I guess lots of people never checked online reviews before purchase.
My friend bought his in around 2004.
You must have gotten the year wrong.
must have been a hand made golden sample made from real gold!
better conductivity.
If you have the room, get 2x 6970's.
Better performance than a 6990 & it's cheaper.
Not much cheaper anymore if you consider the 6970s sell for around $360 - $400.
But I agree, tri-fire ftw.
$353 @ MSY is the cheapest I can find.
damn it! I already have one :(
Shaun1, the performance is barely better when using the higher clocked BIOS.
And to use 2x 6970's you need 2x 16x slots on your mobo for proper performance. I don't know many people who spend this much on their mobo.
The 6990 also uses less power and space in your case.
I love my 6990 :)
Do you have a link?
You don't need 2X 16X, 2X 8X has very little affect on performance afaik.
6990 is 2x downclocked 6970 cores isn't it? Is it missing anything else?
The HIS one is cheap.
