Depends what you want to use it for. If it's mostly on the street, getting around, that sort of thing then get a longboard or cruiser style. Easier to get your balance on and much smoother rolling around on footpaths and whatnot. If you want to do tricks or ride at a skate park then get a deck around 7.75-8" wide but it depends how big you are. Something from Blind, Birdhouse etc would be a good beginner's board. I wouldn't really spend much more than $100 if you don't know if you're going to like it or not.
If people are looking for Carvers, they're heaps cheaper thru kickpush. As an example, the Carver Channel Islands with C7 trucks, Beyond are selling it for $569 (before the sale), Kickpush list the RRP as $429 and have it on sale for $387. Beyonds 20% off sale price will still be higher than RRP?
Man, they don't sell Girl or Enjoi :(. Remember the brand Alphanumeric from 00?
Who, Beyond?
I got my latest Girl Kennedy from Kickpush for a pretty good price but they must be low on stock of both brands. KP and Beyond would stock both brands, probably just don't have much stock at the moment.
Kickpush do better than their current 10% off all the time.
I hadn't skated for many many years until the kids wanted boards recently so got one myself but had an Emerica back in the late 90's, loved that board but seems all they do now is shoes :(
If I was to learn to skateboard, could someone recommend a board?
