First time I've bought from overpriced-gerry in over 5 years. He needs some loss leaders.

  • +3

wow that's good but $23 total bringing it to 32c

    still good value!

    • +4

i better put that in the description

      • +1

        cheers!

  • +6

better if they were AA and not AAA , dont have too many devices with AAA

    still good though

  • +2

Good price! Any idea on the expiry date of the batteries?

  • +18

Wait, I thought all online sales were evil and destroying the Australian economy and making cute baby Kangaroos spontaneously combust? I better be safe and buy absolutely nothing online, nah I'll just be safe and never buying anything from HArvey Norman full stop.

Maybe Gerry just pulled his head out of the sand?

      • -1

Lol. As if mate, maybe you should pull your head out of the sand :p

    • +2

The site is based in Australia so you still have to pay GST. It was the fact the overseas companies don't have to charge GST that he was against.

      • +7

According to Gerry though there was also no future in online trading….lol

        • +2

no future for high priced HN stores, maybe.

  • That's a lot of AAA's. But really good deal. Any other thing at online HV worth mentioning?
    No PayPal option.

    • Paypal [coming soon]

  • how cheap do these get in the supermarkets ?

  • +6

    What's the expiry date though?

    • +1

      TODAY

      • +4

        … of the batteries

        • :)

        • Still today. ;)

j/k hope not. I bought some earlier today too. :)

  • +2

while this deal is excellent….and i will buy them…it just goes to show the margins hn is putting on their retail products (check out the price of these in store :D ) as i doubt hn is selling these at a loss. if hn think by putting a deal like this on the web that people are going to stop buying big ticket items online they are just as naive as i think they are.

  • check out the price of these in store

    Whilst I'm nowhere near a HN fan…..

Instore = rent, wages, heating, lighting, transport, etc etc

  • +1

i understand that….but more than 3x the price?

  • +4

Who has devices that use AAA batteries in this quantity?
I have a couple of remotes… and it's not as if they chew through batteries!

    • +1

I agree. Normally if a product requires batteries to be replaced often and is not rechargeable I just won't buy it.

I would rather buy the 60 pack of AAA's for $5 at Aldi.

    • This'll feed my Band Hero set for the next 10 years!

      • Damnit, just realised they're AAA and not AA T______________T

  • +13

Wtf? Is this website the love child of HN and COTD?

  • It looks like you get two watch batteries in each pack too

    • +2

No, I think those are those plastic indentation things that allows you to reseal the package!?

      • +1

oh. I've never seen them in packaging like that before. The ones I've used have always been in blister packs which tear your fingers to shreds if you dont use scissors. :o

  • +4

Looks like an excuse to find some 'toys' that use AAA's

  • +7

They'll probably put a few decent bargains up first and then go like cotd and become a sack of crap.

    • +1

      $199 PS3…….??

    • +1

and then like all good ozbargainers we will move on to the next site.

    • So when are they going to put up decent bargains?

All I'm seeing so far is crap I would see on COTD.

  • Might go well with this deal at the moment - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/41891

Not sure if these type of batteries are included in the promo??…

  • I bought one without thinking too much , great buy anyway , thank for the sharing info

  • +3

…Has anyone thought of pricematching it at a Harvey Norman store(to aviod the $5 delivery fee)?

    • Checked by email them, but this offer is for online purchase only

  • +3

Strange, they have their website hosted in Singapore.

    • +8

So much for Gerry's support for Aussie jobs… hahahaha

  • there is a total of 8 things to buy on Gerry Harvey's "BIG BUYS' website. This man is a joke.

  • +1

    SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • +2

Hello. Sir, your reputation precedes you. How many did YOU buy? :)

ManChews & Scarves lasted much longer than that … and they were free!

        • +2

          damn buddy!

          you're awesome!

        • :)

  • Thanks for this, I managed to get a pack ordered before they sold out. A heap of my son's toys use AAA's so they'll be put to good use. :-)

  • Mine arrived today - use by 2016

    • yeah same. lucky they didnt dud us with ones with close expiries =D.

  • does anyone have a screenshot of the cached version of this page when it was still active?
