Have you only put in about 5 minutes of Car Quest? I was considering it when I saw its price dropped but ultimately decided against it after watching a review that basically said it's just one big "drive to the collectibles" experience
I have only put in 5 minutes, but I also picked up Manticore, Aurelia, and a few other games I had my eyes on, not to mention I finally repaired my chipped PS1 the other day and burned a few old games I been missing, so that's where most of my gaming time has been spent.
My point is, I kicked in 5 minutes or so on Car Quest, just to get a feel for it, but I chose to leave after 5, it wasn't like I got bored after 5 minutes or anything, if that makes sense. Though, that being said, only 5 minutes or so in, I can't speak to the longevity of the game really. But it controls alright, and the opening couple levels are simple and fun enough, can't really go wrong for a buck fiddy. I just spent 15 or so on a pint and schooner before and thought nothing of it.
Car Quest is a pile of shit. I wouldn't recommend it if it was free.
Look, if I enjoyed Vroom in the Night Sky and played over 10 hours of it, I might just be able to enjoy anything.
Would you say Membrane is "good/great for $1.50", or a good/great game period (not just cause it's $1.50)?
@caprimulgus: I'd say it's a solid game in general, but I enjoy puzzle platformer games. Yet to finish it, but really enjoying it.
For $1.44 you'd be crazy not to at least try it
Was just about to make my own bargain post with a full write up/mini review haha
It's gone now though. Hopefully someone is able to post one of those secret Australian eshop browser links in the comments!
thanks.
whats the secret to browse the eshop on a desktop?Ok I found the secret.
1) Use this website to find the game you want via the top right search box: https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Nintendo-Switch/Games/Nintendo-Sw…
2) Once you're on the game page with a purchase option (e.g. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-so…) press F12 (in Chrome) to bring up the source page of the site.
3) Ctrl + F "NSUID" in the source page. If you followed this step immediately after Step 2, there's no need to click anywhere before doing this. E.g. Golf story NSUID is 70010000000775. You simply double click it (might take a few tries to get Chrome to do what you want. Press Esc once or twice if it's not wanting to be selected) to select it and Ctrl + C.
4) Insert NSUID after this URL: https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/titles/XXXXXXXXXXXXXX where the Xs represent the NSUID.
5) Enjoy!

Here's a review that awarded the game a 9/10 at launch
FYI, Nintendolife tends to give massive scores so be wary. They literally compared this to World of Goo in terms of quality so I am a bit suss!
World of Goo is (profanity) great.
Bought it the other day, decently fun, could get a good bit of use out of it if you really enjoy the concept.
Car Quest is also a buck fifty or so IIRC, it's good for five minutes for the dosh. Gotta clear out them gold coins somehow.
