[Switch] Christmas Sale: e.g.Crypt of The Necrodancer - $6 (Was $30), Nine Parchments - $9 (Was $30) + More @ Nintendo eShop

500

A fair few things have been discounted on the Switch Eshop as part of what I'm assuming is the Christmas sale.

These are two of the standouts. Still going through the list myself

Also Furi - $14.99 (was $29.99) seems decent from what I've heard

Think Of The Children - $9.75 (was $19.50, 50% off) (the Devs brother is an Ozbargainer and originally posted this game on release)

Cat Quest - $6.97 (was $15.50, 55% off)

Octodad: Dadliest Catch - $10.50 (was $21.00, 50% off)

Lost in Harmony - $1.99 (was $10.50, 81% off) (I know nothing of this game. May just be following the trends of average games being heavily reduced)

Hollow - $2.90 (was $29.00, 90% off) (same deal as above, but I know this game got average reviews at best)

Zen Bound 2 - $5.99 (was $19.99, 70% off)

Kona - $12.00 (was $30, 60% off)

The Count Lucanor - $4.49 (was $22.49, 80% off) (Don't know much about this game, but it even has a physical version. Could be a steal at this price)

Party Golf - $7.50 (was $22.50, 66% off) (another Aussie developed game I believe)

Unbox: Newbies Adventure - $8.99 (Was $44.95, 80% off) (I own this on PS4 where, unlatched, it ran quite poorly. Had the potential to be a very fun game though and could be worth checking out at this price)

Violett - $1.65 (was $15.00, 89% off)

Star Story: The Horizon Escape - $3.75 (was $15.00, 75% off)

NoReload Heroes- $3.75 (was $15.00, 75% off)

Squids Odyssey - $6.75 (was $22.50, 70% off)

Caveman Warriors - $4.87 (was $19.50, 75% off)

Membrane - $1.44 (was $12.00, 88% off) (I was personally considering buying this game at around $5.00 last time it went on sale. Will probably bite at this price)

Cast of the Seven Godsends - $3.89 (was $19.49, 80% off)

That seems to be it for the heavily discounted
Enjoy!

Vooks has a bigger list thanks to mr_me450.

Ninty Pricer is a great way to look through the eshop sales:
    https://nintypricer.com/au/on-sale

    Now if only I had a Switch…

    • +3

I've heard great things about The Mummy. Might pick it up.

  • It seems to me (and this is just my observation) that every Friday (midnight EST or for me late Thursday evening) new sale items are added. These can be just set by the Devs and yep more are discounting close to Christmas. But to my mind it's not a Nintendo event sale unless first party titles are added ie the one year anniversary, black friday etc had Zelda BOTW, and even Splatoon 2,Mario Odessy came up at some of these. So I'm expecting a bigger sale list a bit closer to the 25th.

    • That bigger sale you mention, I am with you. Too much shovel wear for my tastes. I am also praying that JB hi-fi or some retailer does the 15 percent off eshop credit top-up cards.

  • Some good games! Picked up Pocket Rumble, Crypt of the Decrodancer and No Reload Heros for a few dollars each. Noice!

  • I've got a switch under the christens tree for the kids to open. Is there any way I can buy these games without having to go through the store on the console itself?

    • +2

If you have a Nintendo account that is currently attached to a Switch console you can buy from the website, otherwise nope.

      • Wait, this is possible? Do you have a link to the Aus version of the eShop?

        • +1

If it's already set up, you can buy from the links in the comments above. Eg

          https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/titles/70010000002702

Shows a "Proceed to Purchase" button for me.

          • @3: Legend. :-)

          • @3: How do you even get that link? When I click the link I see the page but can't navigate to any other pages to buy other games.

            • @sniper: Not sure, try the nifty pricer link

    • +1

Technically yes, but it's quite difficult and you will need a linked NNID. I wish I was knowledgeable enough to lend a hand, but a good start would be checking out the links left by @sss333

      • +4

I don't get why they make it so bloody hard to buy via a website. It makes no sense.

        • +1

I agree. It makes no sense. The fact there is a website that you can access as long as you have the correct game codes makes it more confusing that they don't have an official one

    • +4

Is it already wrapped? Might be worth opening it up before Christmas anyway to set up accounts, charge everything and update the OS.

      • +1

Or if you got a game like Starlink, download the 6gb day 1 update

    • Just looking through this on the eShop, it seems most of the sales end after Christmas.
Hopefully you have a MicroSD card, cos the storage on the console will fill up real quick.

Party Golf is a must-have, trust me. It's so much damn fun, at least on PS4, with large groups of friends!

I'm hopingg for these sort of discounts on Hollow Knight, Celeste and Overcooked 2… fingers crossed.

    • +2

What I've noticed is developers reduce their games if they're struggling or getting lost in the crowd of Indies.

Those titles are far too popular for deep discounts at this stage. Plus Hollow Knight is already very fairly priced imo.

Overcooked 2 is also limited by its physical version in terms of price drops. Eshop games that have physical versions that are released at the same time rarely go on sale for more than 30% off.

Celeste is great, but I agree its price is slightly off putting at $30

      • Celeste is getting a LRG physical copy coming soon. Might be worth a look if you want a physical version to store/trade later.

        • Ooo, nice. Deeply disappointed the physical release for Hollow Knight didn't come to fruition.

      • Thanks, I do kind of realise all of this, but I can still hope lol.

    • Like your request, Overcooked 2 is on sale now. From $37 to $28.

  • Crypt of the necrodancer is a great price for Nintendo. Almost comparable to other platforms. And much cheaper than last time.

Great game. Even though I suck at it and can't get far I don't regret my purchase because some of the music is so catchy

So just downloaded Membrane from this sale for $1.44 and I must recommend it to everyone at that price. Just finished the first world and the game is quite clever and fun. Pretty chill puzzle platformer where you shoot to create your own platforms to reach collectibles. A little bit trippy, but well worth the sale price.

  • +1

Thanks; giving Crypt of the Necrodancer a go. Tempted to buy Nine Parchments too.

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is good if you like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or the Gameboy Zelda games. I might pick up DEEMO, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 and Oceanhorn from this sale.

My kids love Nine Parchments. Great 4 player co-op.

  • Woke up to this today and did a little shopping. Ended up with Nine Parchments, Inversus and Crypt of Necromancer. Going to take another look at Membrane based on suggestions here.

  • My list is:
    Super Cariot $18 (40% off)
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle $12.75 (50% off)
The Next Penelope $7.99 (60% off)
Super Rocket Shootout $7.49 (50% off)
    Cat Quest $6.97 (55% off)
    Squids Odyssey $6.75 (70% off)
Crypt of the NecroDancer $6 (80% off)
    INVERSUS $5.39 (70% off)
    TurtlePop $4.95 (64% off)
    MEMBRANE $1.55 (88% off)

  • Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes as well as Baseball is on sale too

    • Yeah they've added quite a few things since I posted.

      Brawl is $1.50 (was $15.00 for a 90% discount)
Passpartout is an interesting little indie game for $7.50 down from $15.00.
Fear Effect Sedna has a 75% discount
RBI Baseball 18 is down 70% like you mentioned.

There's a couple other mobile quality games down below $2 too.

Honestly can't recommend Membrane enough though. Currently the cheapest game on the eshop and quite a fun little trippy indie title

  • 20xx is on sale if any of you like the idea of Megaman with rogue like elements.

Thanks for linking to Think of the Children, OP! If anyone picks it up I'm always keen to hear your thoughts and feedback.

  • Someone posted on the other thread 5 steps to purchase games from the eshop online. But now I cannot find it! Does anyone know what they were?

    • Yes please!

  • I very much want to purchase the discounted RBI Baseball, but no idea how to find this in the AU store :(

Any tips on finding the NSUID from my phone?
