  • Looks like a generic "Victorinox SwissCard Lite"

      Sure does aye

      • Seems like the opposite of a popular response

    • Ah but it's not a SwissCard Lite, it's a Switzerland Light.

Looks worth a try to me. Thanks.

    What is it for?

  • +4

Just remember these are not legally able to be carried in public.

    • -5

Yeah nah, its people like you that are the reason we have Bike helmet laws (unlike EVERY OTHER COUNTRY in the world, even the ones which have socialised Medicare systems).

      • +5

Huh? What has that got to do with this?

I never said I agree with the law, just that it is the law.

      • +1

        Name checks out.

Yeah nah, its people like you that are the reason the Courts are full of people who think the law doesn't apply to them.

dickmojo, take your attitude and yourself to an airport with one of these (you don't even have to be traveling). Go through the screening point and be prepared to wait, as they WILL call the AFP and you WILL be charged with Carry Prohibited Weapon (or a similar offence depending on which state you choose to try your luck).

Similarly, carrying a knife in a public place IS an offence without a reasonable excuse. Concealing like this makes it more of an issue.

Most people forget they are even carrying these until its too late. If you've lived your whole life without one, why bother now?

Credit Card Knives will get you a criminal history without even trying.

        • These will certainly get confiscated at checkpoints, but I doubt you would be charged. These tool cards, though including a knife, are in a now in a clear case, so there are no longer concealed or disguised. However, people be charged for having one of those folding credit card blades or similar "weaponised" cards. Of course, if you otherwise engaged in illegal activity, you might well be charged for having a SwissCard.

I've had one of these things in my wallet for years. They even get through airport security lol

      • "The AFP has seized 81 credit card knives at Australian airports over the past year, including 22 in the past month alone.

Federal Justice Minister Michael Keenan has warned that it is an offence in all states and territories to buy or possess such a weapon.

“They are a dangerous weapon, they are illegal and they are banned from being taken on domestic and international flights."

Quote from 2014, but the law hasn't changed.

      • dont carry one into a court tho. I got busted for carrying it, on my way to jury duty, ironically.
but, as i dont have a criminal record, got away with 3 mth good behaviour bond.
        this was in melbourne.

      • Lockiez bullcrap.

They DO NOT get through airport security.

        • Mine has, even through fortified countries like USA (I got drug swabbed though lol). I forgot I had it on me and I think it gets through because it gets obscured by coins on the X-ray machine.

What DID get confiscated ages ago however was the tiny pocket knife on my car keys keyring which I also forgot I had.

Edit: something else I just realised is I've also been stripped search before by police (on entry to a music festival, because dogs love me) and they didn't confiscate it then either. I think that was in 2011 though.

Thought you were joking. Looked it up and you're 100% correct. 5 years gaol and $75,000 fine.

  • "Not sure how good the quality is but seems alright for 5 bucks."

A quick look at Amazon shows "name" makers for equivalent/similar $30-40, there's a big disconnect there and that worries me for "fiddly" toolset.

  • i got one of these almost for free on these forums a few years ago. my mum threw ut away. does its job but i dont use it much. cant expect much for the price imo even $5 is abit much. esp when i remembered i received mine for only $2 or so ~

  • If someone bought this for me for Christmas, I'd be like "What a tool!"

  • How to give your friend or loved one a criminal history. Cool! ;)

  • Kinda weird that you can carry a sword in public and not one of these though.

And by carry I mean transport, not brandish.
