        cheapest that ive personally seen is around the $40 mark. But They may be cheaper now

          I think the RRP was about $75-79 when they first came out (I bought it on day 1), they briefly dropped to around the $40 mark on sale locally after a while. I've not seen it cheaper though. Most places are still asking upwards of $50.

        it actually has a built in battery so yes it does take the power from the controller but you can take it off and still use it

          Built-in battery, and totally separate of the controller power supply. It has its own mini USB for recharging (and pairing if you do it that way…) It could be used stand alone but it has spring loaded hooks to piggy back on the controller which it does quite well, they'd be pretty awful otherwise if you just wanted a handheld keyboard. Most people don't know the keys are touch sensitive and you can use the whole keypad face as a touchpad mouse as well!
