  • Problem is, none of their stores are anywhere near me… Would be good to price match at a retail store if anyone else sells them

  • Can you shuck this, and is it 7200rpm?

    • No sure about the first bit but updated as 7200rpm according to amazon uk listing

      • Don't think it is 7200rpm. Answers to a question on Amazon state it's 5400. Not sure if they make high capacity 7200rpm drives either.

        • I also don't think it is 7200rpm. I can't find anywhere on that page that lists it. Amazon UK also don't even sell the 3tb variant

      • If you scroll down to the Q&A section on the Amazon UK page, there are a couple of answers (one from the seller) that say it's 5400rpm.

  • Don’t know but Tweaktown reviewed one a few years back and got 117/119 write/read. That’s pretty fast for one of these right?

  • Is it worth paying an extra $20 for a more well known brand such as western Digital or Seagate?

    • I wouldn't mind $20 more but I don't see any 3tb Seagate or WD for near $109 - closer to $149

      • Deals like this, this, thisand this pop up for < $120 from time to time.

        • damn how did I miss that office works one :(

      Adata is pretty well known in the memory/hdd space - check out review above or Linus Tech Tips' YouTube channel for reassurance.

      There are only three hard drive manufacturers left. WD, Seagate and Toshiba.

      Adata is simply taking one from above, chuck it in a case

  • 4 of these, a powered usb hub, and a raspberry pi, make for a very cool, sub $400 ZFS RAID storage box.

      @usb2 speeds. no thanks

      • It's fast enough to stream 4k, which is all most people need.

        Or multiple 1080p streams.

    Adata use Toshiba HHD's, so if you're happy with Toshiba, this seems to be a good price.

  • The question is; is it shuckable?
