Are these any good? Or just average for teenagers?
What about a high maintenance girlfriend?

    Kit 681 or kit 684?

    • I’d PM moocher. She’d know… about make up that is. I am not implying she’s a teenager or high maintenance.

Morphe is cheap Chinese crap, they compete with entry level cosmetics like colorpop and BH cosmetics.. Better to get Hakuhodo, Wayne Goss or Zoeva.

Expect to pay $250 - $800 for a set of those.

      M.A.C has 1 good brush aswell however that's around $50 a brush.

      • Thanks for the feedback and response. Appreciated

Real Techniques makes significantly better brushes in a similar price bracket.

      EcoTools if you need budget.

      ELF is also okay.

My favourites are Zoeva but prepare to pay more than any of the ones I mentioned. I buy RT 99% of the time, though.

Also for anyone reading, don't buy Real techniques from Priceline, much cheaper on iherb.

        • I didn't know this.

Even when Priceline has a sale?

That's good to know, I'm hunting for some good eyeshadow brushes.

          • @haboutnnah: Yep, even on sale.

eg -with- pricelines current 20% off:

            2-pack complexion sponge pack
            Priceline: $15.99 (was 19.99)
            iherb: $9.84

            Blush brush
            priceline: $19.99 (was $24.99)
            iherb: $12.66

Can usually get a discount code for iherb too for 10% off or so.

Not sure why I got down voted..

Morphe brushes don't last, they shed hair quickly due to poor glue and crap ferrule design, the synthetic hair doesn't pack on eye shadows well unlike a Mac 239 and the overall quality is no where near Zoeva. Google Zoeva vs Morphe.

Keep in mind you do also want any foundation brushes to be synthetic not natural/squirrel hair as you'll ruin the ferrule.

If properly taken care of any decent set of brushes will last years. Always dry upside down and clean after each use with baby shampoo.

Please do recommend everyone a better set for $30. This is a bargain for this price.
You've come to a bargain forum remember, not a makeup and beauty.
These brushes are not cheap and nasty like you're making them out to be.

      • Jessup brushes are good if you aren't after something fancy, I can vouch for their quality for the price. I've had mine for a good 4 years. On one of them the bristles came unglued but they can be repaired easily. Otherwise they are extremely soft and dense with no shedding.. and pretty! I think they've gone up a tad in price since they became more popular. I use them more than my real techniques brushes.

Here's a big set for cheap, many more colours/packs available on their ebay store.

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AU-Jessup-Premium-15Pcs-Cosmetic…

This is the one I got, as I really only needed face brushes (which imo they do the best between face/eye)

You probably got down-voted for how aggressive your response was TBH.

    • you probably got downvoted because you're comparing bargain brushes to high end brushes. buyers of morphe are expecting avg grade products at that price point.

You know these brushes are just this, right???

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07DVYKX4M/ref=sxbs_sxwds-dea…

There are also around 6 different sets all renamed and out of the same factory in china..

    Usually around $11 a set.

But if you knew anything about Morphe/BH/ColorPop etc you'd know this.

'Bestope' is another name these run under.

    • Agreed 100%, surprised many people didn't know this!

I almost bought my wife a Morphe set and instead I got lectured on it being a white label for cheaper chinese brand, and yes my ozbargain licence almost suspended too.

  • Do you have any proof to back this? interesting..
